Pivot mod, smoother action
Warning: Performing below modification will void warranty. Please do it with your own risk. Any damage cause by this, myself nor Benchmade Knife Corporation will not be held responsible.
Sorry for the warning, but it will definitely void the warrantee. Have anyone tried this? It really made it much smoother than before.
I know almost all Axis lock is very smooth. But sometimes after owning many Axis lock BKC blade, you will always base it on your smoothest mechanism you own. In my case, 950BK-1 modified. I don't know how many times I have disassembled, cleaned, polished liners, and heat embedded synthetic lubricant on pivot mechanisms. It open and close like gliding fingers gently on satin.
I can post more details, if anyone wants.

Sometimes it's necessary because of poor workmanship, which was the case with my new north fork.
I had to take it apart and polish all the bearing surfaces to make it right, they were very rough.
On the other hand, my 810 contego was perfect, right out of the box.0 -

lol, I see your point there. I think it is more like 70% than 90. I counted 8 surface I have polished. After this treatment, I don't have to oil pivot for few years even EDC-ing in the field.
Smoothness is outstanding. Perhaps it shows more difference in capsuled liner smaller knife.0
