Bought a knife from a member, a Ritter blade from Knifeworks....
And I'll combine them. I bought a mini-Grip from a member that has very nice G10 blue/black scales made, I believe by another member, Keyman? I'll pair that with the Ritter M390 blade from the Knifeworks knife and I think that will create a gem!
I'll take the left over bright orange grips from the Knifeworks blade and put the 154 blade together with them, and I'll have a great little truck knife that I won't have to worry about too much.
Plus, I'll get a little experience taking apart and putting together a knife. Haven't done it before, but it can't really be that complicated, now can it......

Won't be bad at all. When you take them apart, I don't think you'll have to even take it all the way apart unless you want to.. undo the screws most of the way and take the pivot screw out entirely. Make sure you get both washers (one on each side of the blade) when you pull the blade.
Use a dot of lube/oil to hold the washers onto the blade. Pull the axis bar to the back and maneuver the blade into place (about 1/3 or 2/3 open). If the washers slide, you can push then lightly with a toothpick (I sometimes use my torx bit) till they get close, then push the bit and knock it around the hole to center them on the pivot hole.
Then push the pivot back through taking note that it pushes from back to front and that the liner has a flat edge that has to match the pivot. Then retighten everything and adjust as necessary to center the blade.
Others have done it much more than I, but that's my method. The key to getting the blade in the right slot for the pivot hole is pulling the Axis bar back and with the blade about half open.0 -
Good advice from Carson. I've used a second tooth pick or Q-tip to hold back the Axis lock while aligning the washers & blade on the piviot pin.

Is it possible to just remove the scales, leaving the liners and blade intact, or does it not work that way?
LOL, either way, I'm gonna find out, because I'm gonna take stuff apart!0 -
Never mind that last question. As I examine the knife, I see that it wouldn't work like that. 0 -
It's just a blade swap, unless one has black liner/Axis or something...
All that needs to come out is the pivot screw.
Even complete disassembly is bone simple, screw out, screw in. The only finesse you might need is if the blade is not centered, but in my experience, if both blades are centered to start, they will most likely be centered after the swap.
Oh, be carefull of the larger head screw in the center of the handle. I've encountered those so tight I couldn't get them out. But if you are simply swapping blades, that won't be a worry.
No fear! Have fun!0 -
Do you have a pic of the knives after the swap? 0
