Mini 940
What is the interest in a "Mini 940"? By this I mean a 940, shrunk down to size, same ratios as the original just 3 inch blade (2.9" - 3.1" give or take a bit). It would definitely be a "pocket" knife that would fit nicely in the pocket without clip. (or could always be used with a clip as well.) After the Griptilian the 940 is a top seller and a Mini version should do as well as the Min Grip does compared with the Full Grip.
For the purpose of this poll don't consider scales or blade material. Assume it would follow the same as it's big brother.

I don't want to touch the 940, just make a jr. version.
Same reason there is a grip and mini grip. Some days I want a smaller knife, some days larger.
I agree the 940 is perfection in it's own size. I want the same perfection in a smaller size.0 -
Maybe the 940 is the mini. 0 -
960 has always fit this role for me. Now that 810... that's a knife I'd like to see a mini of. 0 -
That's an idea... they could make a giant 940 instead!
hmm... I suppose that would pretty much be an 810 with a different handle...0 -
ya a mini and put a pin on the back and call it a hat pin. lol it's fine as is. 0 -

^^ This
The 940 already feels like a mini sized knife in the hand and pocket, but still packing a full sized blade.
Making a mini size would make the handle feel wayyyy too small for me.
So, yeah, no need for a mini 940 IMO0 -
Voted; I like the 940 but not in a mini version. 0 -

that would be a "Rift" 9500 -
Well I voted, but I have to say it wasn't a true easy choice not having a Full Size and a Mini Version side by side to compare.
BUT I wonder what the vote outcome would be like if the question was do you want a Standard Carbon Fiber Version in either a Full and Mini version (just a thought)...

I find the rift is still pretty big. I'd like to see something smaller still. The rift also has a different shaped handle, no glass breaker, no jimping and weirdly is the only benchmade I know of that doesn't have drilled out liners. What's with that?0 -
Interesting! My vote isn't for a mini-940, but for a grown-up version. Someone made the comment that the 960 is the mini-940 and that works for me, but the 810 is definitely not a full-size 940, it's in a class all its own. I carry and love the 940 a lot, but the all-time perfect made-in-heaven-and-designed-just-for-me knife would be the 940 in a slightly larger size. Keep the balance, the look and feel, with just a touch more heft. Now THAT's a great knife! 0 -
A mini 940 would be perfect for me! Thats about the only size I carry anymore. 0 -

+1 That is what I am looking for. A "pocket" knife with axis lock. Not nail nick.0 -
It would be pretty close to the 470. The 470 with the assisted open would be my choice over a smaller 940, but if the mini 940 were distinguished somehow, like with better steel or otherwise more interesting materials, I'd buy one. 0 -
When the 950 came out, I called the 940 the little brother... then the 810 came out... then it became the littlest brother.
Odd too that the 950 is so nice without jimping... and the 810 comes out like a hedgehog.0 -

It might be a good seller for BM considering a lot of cities try to limit blade size to under 3 inches. I'd like it especially if it did not have a AL handles 0 -

That's like calling a meter "short" or "long". The meter is the standard for all measurement. The 940 is the standard for all knifes. (Ends up most BM's are larger than the 940).
OK, I admit I am biased.0 -
