The Prestigious kitchen set in 440c came as sharp as any knife I have seen.

I sharpened my Bedlam last night and I have to say I think it should be added to my list.

+1 on the Bedlam. 154CM at that angle becomes a laser. My Bedlam can slice through just about anything when it's dull. sharpened, it becomes a lightsaber.

Also, Keyman's list above is interesting, and a good representation of metallurgy rankings, IMO as well.
    Good call, Keymeister.

Mac, you did ask "what is.." as in the singular tense, so I assumed you'd post once, with one singular knife as your apex. But you have a dozen posts & nearly that # of knives listed!

Down Boy! Seriously love the enthusiasm, don't go getting shy on us.

This is the most subjective thread ever, when you think about it...
But I'll refer you back to my opening post.
My brother and I were discussing the many factors which contribute to a knife being sharper than average. I just sort of wanted an idea from you guys as to any other points we'd missed, and what Benchmade knives stand out as being outstanding in terms of being sharp.
    There's just too many.
And an interesting point I made to my bro was that some of my BM factory edges (and Lifesharp edges) lend themselves to being more capable at cutting tasks than some of my own EPA edges.

Plus, it's hard not to give the nod to many different models when you're a crazy enthusiast like myself.

My absolute sharpest BM is the sharpest one I have obviously, self explanatory there.

Who knows, never really looked or had the time to fiddle with a bunch of them. It's all perception so without a scientific controlled test it is impossible to prove anyway once a certain level of sharpness is achieved it is differentially unmeasurable without a controlled test. Therefore the sharpest one I have is the sharpest one I have and that is an undisputable fact.

    No kidding...
Do you actually use any Benchmade knives, or just collect them?

All my users are incredibly sharp. Probably the easiest one to keep sharp is my 907D2. That thing is dangerous and my wife isn't aloud to touch it anymore.

To each his own. I like using my knives, but I also have several that won't ever be used by me. I can respect both perspectives but really hate getting a NIB knife that has obviously been handled, lightly used, or lifesharpened.

I agree on the Bedlam being crazy sharp as a user. It has repeatedly accidental gone through the sternum during field dressing.

That being said my 49s are crazy sharp, but I never carry any of them, so I am not sure they should count.
