Mini Grip M4

I think it might have affected the sharpening, because the one I got sucks. Unless they are letting some new person learn on limited edition knives. The grind angles do not match from side to side and they burned the tip.

I got three GPKnives M-4 minis and all have been good ,
One I cut up some cardboard with and it still shaved afterwards.......not as easily , but shaved all the same.

Mine came razor sharp and has become my favorite EDC. This is my first M4 blade and I am really liking the performance of this steel.

Mine performs pretty well, but the factory edge wasn't the best. It was even, and a good angle, but it wasn't super sharp. Definitely sharp enough to get work done, but not as sharp as I would have liked.

Have you got good sharpening gear to fix it? What do you use?

I have a set of DMT folding sharpeners and a sharpmaker, but with my level of skill, it's more like a dmt folding dullener and a dullmaker.
The blade is still pretty sharp, just barely below hair shaving, and works just fine for my purposes. I did strop it a couple times and it's back to factory sharpness, and since it's CPM M4, that should last for a long time.

I would think your DMT and strop should fix about anything...and once its back to deadly sharp, the Sharpmaker should keep it there.

If you get too disgusted, you might consider giving it a trip to LifeSharp. The one knife I sent there came back as sharp as any factory blade I've ever bought.

I love mine. My favorite knife. I can "feel" it is a little tougher, but if I didn't know better I probably couldn't tell the difference. No complaints. I EDC it and cut some tie straps, but I don't beat the crap out of it either. I have it sharpened to 15 deg. per edge and it is razor sharp.

BTW I love the DLC coating, especially how it takes oil compared to Cerakote that it just beads up on.

While on this topic does anyone know if the last run of M4 full size grips had the harder M4?
