477-1 handle

The good news is that the hard anodizing will not flake off the way the paint does on the pocket clips. Aluminum is relative soft as metals go, though, so hard use that dents the material will remove the surface and the aluminum will show through. G-10 and Micarta is superior in this regard, but personally, I think the well used aluminum scales still look rather cool. With light utility use, and no accidental drops, the handle will look new for a long time.

If I liked the 477-1, and I do, I would not hesitate to buy it due to the handle material, personally.

I found my Emissary (in black) scratched quite easily if it shared a pocket with anything else. I quickly refrained from carrying any change or even my keys alongside my knife.

*** What Po said... Don't let the handles stop you from buying the 477 - it's a sweet knife! Plenty durable yet light weight. Fantastic EDC blade.

I have a 477 (Black) and have carried it quite a lot. I have even carried it in the same pocket as a set of keys, and no problems.
