    Hey Bill!!
    I am a fan now!!
He made me red scales, the ones on the first page of the thread he started, for my 940.
I can't believe how clean and exact his work is!! They are just beautiful!
I have a 943 coming and would love a pair of tan and gray scales for it. Just waiting to hear back from him.
Amazing work that's worth every penny!
I'll figure out how to post pics.....you have to see these scales! I'll have the new 940 tomorrow.

I've 3 pair of Ryan's scales for the 940. In addition to wanting some other colors, I also want seconds on colors I have for the 943

Got the new knife yesterday and she is just beautiful! I think the 940 with black blade is really sweet looking!
Out of the box smooth as buttered glass! Held horizontally, pull back lock and the blade swings like a metronome! No play either way! Just perfect!
Now to install the new gorgeous DOAT scales and it'll be breath taking!
All screws came out easily.......except one of the liner screws. Thought it was turning....looked and it is rounded. NO!!!!.....yes. Todd head gone.
Any clue what should be done at this point?? Put the knife back together and she's perfect, but I'd love to get the scales on.

Damn, you will probably have to go to the hardware store and purchase a tool to remove rounded screws. I hope they make them for screws that small...Then contact Benchmade customer service and request some handle screw replacements.

You could email Ryan and ask him for advice, he's got a lot more experience with that kind of thing than I do.

Last choice would be to send it to Benchmade. They may charge you, but I'm sure it would be nominal. Just explain to them what you are up to, tell 'em you need that screw out and a new screw in, not tightened much...
    Smiler

They did something that for me once on a custom shop knife I ordered. I told em I was going to do a handle swap, so please do not locktite the screws, and they helped me out. They do tend to support us tweakers as long as we are not asking them to fix our mistakes for free.

That would be the last resort though...

Good luck, Joe. Looking forward to seeing pics with the Death Grip handle on it.

It's killing me not having the new scales on tho.

    Joe,
I am sure Ryan will help if he can, but Benchmade are great I'm sure they will sell or just give you replacement screws

    Ryan comes through BIG TIME!!
Asked that I send the knife to him to fix it up and put the scales on! He asked only for $5 for shipping....I sent more than that!
Great dude that makes GORGEOUS scales and a pleasure to deal with!
I was waiting at the Post Office for them to open up!
Thank you Ryan and everyone that tried to help!

    Matt,
I picked up the blue twill couple of weeks ago.
(Ryan's first pair). The pics Ryan took are a good representation. Intend to buy another set down the road. Regards Bill
