470-1 Unexpected Bonus!

I just received my long awaited 470-1 Emissary, a perfect EDC! This is my James Bond Knife: Sexy good looking, very high quality, highly concealable, and deadly (heaven forbid). Kind of a luxury but I just had to have it! Got it out of the box and noticed a slight side to side blade play. I played with it for a day, opened it a couple hundred times. It will not deploy all the way to the lock if you open it about half way manually and release the blade. That is ok. I thought the deployment was perhaps a little slow compared to some videos I have watched. Manually moving the blade in and out felt a little grainy.

I LOOSENED the pivot screw about 1/8 - 1/4 of a turn and hit it with some Blue Lube. Feels less grainy, deploys faster and the blade play is COMPLETELY gone! I never thought that by loosening the pivot it would get rid of the play but it did. Guess it was a combination of the oil and loosening it, but what a bonus!

man I like this knife. It is little so now I have hit the streets and drum up some quick sharpening business so I can go snag a 477-1!!

  My 477-1 is by far my sexiest knife!!
  Blade flies out so fast if you don't hold on it will jump out of your hand!!
  I absolutely love it!!

  I read where some people are having problems with wear on the handle. It's anodized 6061 T6 just like about a million other knifes right? The only problem I ever had with it are dropping it and exposing the shiny aluminum below, but that's it.
