AFO II Problems

I recently purchased my first Benchmade knife (AFO II) and I've noticed the blade has some up and down play in it when closed, also when I press the button to open the knife there is a grinding sound like metal on metal on the tang of the blade. Is this normal for the AFO II or should I send it back to Benchmade?

  Unless you are comfortable with taking it apart I would sent it back for a tune. They will clean it sharpen it and fix any issues.
