I would DEFINITELY go for a 610 Forum LE.

Think I like the idea of a one-piece G-10 or carbon fiber handle scale.

S90V or M390 would be my first choices, though M-4 would be great too.

First choice for finish would be satin for S90V or M390.

An all-black knife like the KSF Stryker would be awesome, black cerakote, M4, carbon fiber, sweet!

Think about this too, satin blade, black G-10 bolster, forest green G-10 scale. Awesome!

This thread has totally made my day!!
    Big Grin

Needless to say, I would ABSOLUTELY grab at least one of these if Benchmade ressurects the 610 for forum members.
    I'm with Po...
First choice for me would be a satin plain edge blade in M390 or S90V.
I love the original G-10/micarta combo. That'd be fine with me...
But I wouldn't be disappointed with an all G-10 handle. And you know what? All micarta would float my boat too...think about it.
I enjoy Po's idea of a Rukus with some sort of bolster with forest green G-10 scales. I'd buy that knife...
I say skip the carbon fiber though. Keep it somewhat classic at least.
Truly, I'll have a tough time saying no to whatever version Benchmade comes up with.
I'm anxious to hear more ideas regarding this forum 610. Keep 'em coming please.
Let's keep this thread alive until we all have one. (Or two or three

I know that I should be excited at this prospect. But I'm not. The 610 is a much larger knife that I have any interest in buying. Possibly, if it was the 615. But that's just me....

If carbon fiber was made of this, I'd buy it in a heartbeat even if $350+. I just picked up the Ares carbon fiber along with the Stryker CF and, my god, they are gorgeous.

If I had my choice on the matter, I’d go with this set up:

    Steel: Satin M390
    Edge: Plain
    Scales: Full Carbon Fiber
    Hardware: Black Oxide
Serial Number: Single Number format (Below Thumb-stud)

If they released that, I’d probably pass out from overwhelming joy. That’d be one kickasss knife IMO. I’d probably pick up three or more even if they were priced $350 and above LOL

PLEASE BENCHMADE CONSIDER ANY 610 VARIANT FOR US!!!

I would be in on a 610 just about anything plain edge.

    Being realistic.

    - Due to its size the 610 is not as widely popular as the 950.
    - It was challenging to find 300 takers on the forum for the 950 forum knife.
    - It seems forum participation is lower now than when the 950 forum knife was organized.
    - Benchmade's minimum is now 1000 pcs.

Then again, it certainly doesn't hurt to try. Good luck!

Voted no, but still had to answer remaining questions ( at least my preferences mirrored the majority. Like Redwood I think it is too big for most daily carry.
I am thinking all BM' blue class should now be carbon fiber with either M930 or S90v. As that the best materials at this time in knife world

Meh. The 610 is too big for my tastes. Now if it was a 615...

Without wanting to offend anyone, I say "Go big or go home." For me, it's the 610 or bust... That's the knife I want. There's been a limited edition 615 to please the Benchmade masses, now it's time to make us large handed 610 fanatics happy. Happier than a pig in... You know the rest.
Again, any 610 variant would do.
I know there's significant interest in this... Whether or not it's limited to a forum knife or Benchmade decides to release it in a line of "classic" knives, I think it's a great idea, and I'll jump all over it.

I like everything about the 610 (and 615). Except the clip. Bad design. Wobbly. Fix that and I'm in.

Seriously... How many 615’s has there been? I didn’t even pick up the last one because it was so underwhelming.. That’s probably why they are still for sale.

I’m actually surprised with all the no’s.. The funny thing is that a lot of the people who said no would probably still obtain one (if they were produced). I’ve seen it happen before.. They always cave once the forum hype begins hahaha

    IT'S ABOUT TIME!!
M390 or M4, not familiar with the other super steels.
    If M4 then coated.
    Plain edge.
Regular Rukus scales are the nicest, good to keep the costs down as well and KM can do personal upgrades.

Comon BM, you can do this
    Wink
, you may not sell a thousand pieces but for sure you'll keep us as loyal customers for many years to come.

Hove lots of 615's, only one 610.
The 615 has been done in many variations over the past few years.
So I would vote 610 between the two.

    S90V
    Satin blade
    OTHER: 1/2 G-10 / 1/2 CF
Number under thumb stud (#4 for me)
    Plain edge
    Satin hardware.

That's what I would spec anyway.
    Deja Vu all over again........
    Cool

Has this been agreed to by BM?
    Model and materials?
Or more of a wishful thinking thread?
    Thanks

Exactly, I created the poll to see where everyone stood on the idea (along with desired materials).. Do I believe that a 610 will be resurrected one day? - Yes, But will it be for a forum knife project? - I don’t know...

As for gauging BM, here is their response:

Then Engineering has to vet and approve the plan based on feasibility, timelines, development cost, mfg cost, etc. There's usually some back and forth at that stage. Then if all is good to go, we'd pull the trigger. I think there'd also have to be a dealer to sponsor the project, although I'm not sure about that anymore. It certainly makes it easier. I feel like KW did that last Forum Knife 950.

As for the 610 specifically, it's a discontinued knife, so it'd need to be a sizable run. It's also a really expensive knife to manufacture, so MSRP would be up there. I'm not sure if that's a deal breaker or not, just throwing it out there.

It's cool to see the enthusiasm.. I didn't realize the 610 had such a following. I personally prefer the little guy (615-1 for me) just for carrying in my pocket, but the big one was a slick knife too.

Not sure if I am in the loop this time around.
Would be nice if it gets done though.

For perspective, 1,000 knives is a lot of knives to move. We had trouble last time around trying to move 300--and that was with what is essentially "friends and family" pricing.

I dunno, the 610 has somewhat of a cult following.. Maybe the number of votes here isn’t a good representative number of that, but I’m sure if one was released to the open market, they would fly.. Especially if word got around on the web, we’d probably have a Russian invasion LOL

if it is released on the open market, it isn't a BM forum knife...the last BM forum knife was only offered to forumites and they had to sign up here...MCM and Trailboss managed the lists...if it isn't a forum knife then it's just a LE

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting as many NO's, maybe a non-forum knife release is the way to go...

The end goal is to get one made, one way or another.. I just want to hold an upgraded 610 in my hands

Sounds like an interesting project and I would love to see it come to fruition, but I have some reservations. I love big knives, but they are not for everyone, so it might be hard to get enough people involved. Secondly, this knife is an expensive model to begin with, once you start adding more exotic steels and handle materials I am afraid it would be priced out of the reach of all but the most hardcore collectors. Here's hoping it can be done and at a reasonable price though.

To all the people talking about the "1000 minimum" rule, how did this happen?

    http://www.rghknives.com.tw/im...pen_730-1501_ex2.jpg

There are factors involved with this particular model that may push up the minimum number, but if RGH doesn't need to sell 1000, I wonder why the forum would.

I cant believe the number of no,s either .......
    I HAD a 610 once and regret selling it , I,d like another .......
As far as a 1000 goes ....... the 610 is the size of three regular knives , so 350 pcs ought to be enough .......LOL

The only bummer is the wimpy clip.
That and its a bit (broad at the beam) thick in the pocket.
Love the way the blade swings open though.
    Am in for one..........

I like the 610. But have to agree there are better Benchmade designs out there. I am not a fan of the clip on the 610 and it's a bit too wide.

I would purchase one if it was a forum knife, but I do not think it would be as cool as the last forum knife.

I'm ashamed to admit this but im such a whore for carbon fiber with those pretty blue standoffs. I swear I'll buy anything and everything from BM as long as it has those 2 things and I would truthfully careless which model it is.

First, I would like to know why this never materialized and hit the market... Was it legit in the first place? (see thread)

    Russian Rukus Thread

If the powers that be considered a limited Russian run, why not have a run for it’s home-based enthusiasts..?
    Confused

Secondly, in regard to the 610’s clip.. I do agree that it could of been more properly suited for the larger knife/weight.. But honestly, until I read about the supposedly “weak” or “wimpy” clip on one of these boards a while back, I never noticed or gave it any thought whatsoever ... I can find something wrong with any knife, but I can honestly tell you I never had it bend, come off, or give me any negative issues while I carried it.. And I carried the 610 a lot when it first came out with no hesitation. I just hope the people who commented on the clip have actual experience carrying/handling one and they didn’t just piggy-back off someone else’s comment..

    Original clip:

And last but not least, the price.. If I remember correctly, the stock 610 went from anywhere between $225-250 depending on the dealer... Examples Below

    BLHQ - 610 Price

    JT K - 610 Price

If the stock 610’s were around $225-250, an LE version with premium upgrades would most likely be nearing somewhere in-between $300-350.. I say go big or go home..
