If you have an old knife that doesnt have bronze washers , BM will change them out for you.
This has been said a couple or so years ago by someone else.
As far as quality goes ......I dont know.
I do know that a washer has to be dead flat or it aint workin good.

    Would BM install if not?

Bronze washers from an online kit dealer work/same quality as BM? I know their only washers but...I can be anal sometimes.

    Thanks in advance.
I've never been able to find the right diameter washers with the right hole size and thickness to buy at a dealer. Benchmade swaps them out for free if you're willing to pay their return postage fee. If you don't know the current amount, just call first. Or,you could probably send it in for LifeSharp service and ask for the washers and get it all at once.

You should be able to tell if the pivot washers are bronze or nylon. The nylon washers are fairly thick, and should be easy to see. They will have a dark gray color. Bronze washers are thinner, and should have a fairly shiny edge.

    Thank you dj

Thats what I was thinking. Ive had bad batches of hardware, bolts and screws and such. Sometimes it matters, sometimes it dont. On a moving surface...MY moving surface...it matters.

    Thanks again

Yea,...I can see it. Dark, not shiny. Didnt think so...just wanted to confirm. This one will go on a round trip. Maybe get some standoffs while its there.

I swear, my knives lead a more exciting life than I do. Been along time since I been on the west coast.

    Thanks fellas

I think Fastjan had some good points too , whole diameter and size.
You can tell if there flat by laying them down on a piece of glass.
However I wouldnt mess with all that crap .......Just send them to life sharp and get all the goodies.
The only after market parts Ive bought were clips and standoffs .......
Sometimes the clips werent well machined , meaning crooked , they worked but were a little off.
Lifesharp service is pretty fast and its not like you dont have other knives to use while your waiting

I have always asked BKC to lifesharp, replace the washers, check the axis spring (if the knife has them) and oil everything and they have always sent my knives back looking like new with fresh oil and super shinny bronze washers.
