Adamas 275

Now let's fast forward to yesterday.
So I open the blade to use it and snap.

Now what do I do to repair this broken pen? The bad part is there is still part of the pen where it sheared off attached to the screws that I can't get a hold of keeping me from being able to take the screws out.

How did you break it? 0 -
Thats crazy, I have beat the heck out of my 275 & never had any trouble. Let alone total failure, BM will fix it though. 0 -
Jerry, I just flipped it open and the pin sheared off.

Right back to BM - they'll do you right and send it back free. 0 -
I'm new here and the same exact thing happened to mine. I was super disappointed. Mine actually happened while chopping... Not even that hard. Seems weird to me that all that keeps the blade of this seemingly heavy duty knige from flopping around is two tiny screws. I'm gonna send it in, but I'm hesitant to use it for anything anymore... Kind of a bummer.

So this month we’ve stories of 3 Benchmade’s failing ( though chopping with a folder is abuse in my mind)
Still the up side to all of this is these are Benchmades which means backed by best service in the industry.
PS Get a fixed blade

Typically i would agree that chopping with a folder is not a " best practice", however to me the Adamas is an exception. Considered to be the tank of Benchmades folder line-up. This knife, in general, appears to have a potential weak point in this area. This is the third Adamas I've seen fail in this manner in 6 months.

Thanks for the insight guys. I do have fixed blades. I just had my Adamas on me. It was nothing I wouldn't have done with many many other folders though. Used a buck 110 and not even anything noticeable happened to it. I'll send it in.
