Blade centering on Shoki 480-1
Hello everyone - New to the forum here.
I just purchased the Shoki 480-1 and really like the M390 blade. Run it down my UF's a couple of times and it's hair whittle sharp now!
My question is regarding the blade centering - mine is off a small amount and I was wondering if this is normal for the model or Nak-Lok series. I'm a little spoiled by my Spydies(all are dead center), but I also have a few other BM's that are dead on.
I find no adjustment within the knifes construction ie the knifes pivot.
I can live with it - but it is a $190 knife - and I have come to expect alot from production knives lately
Any hints or advice on getting it perfect.
Or should I just carry and know that it is what it is?
Thanks,
Pat

Welcome!
You should be able to adjust the pivot screw some that will help to center the blade. There is another technique I read on here to do it, but I don't remember where to find it.
The other issue is to send it to Benchmade and ask them to make it right. They have excellent CS, and I know that a few of us here have done that to good effect.0 -
I bought the first one I found locally - it's a keeper. I touch mine up with the white Sharpmaker files (I use mine a lot!). The pivot screws are T6 - but I don't recall the center on mine varying - it's pretty well centered. Welcome to the forum.

You have been given some good advice on the knife, but I would also add that Benchmade backs there product 100% and if there is an issue they will make it right at no cost.
They really are Fantastic that way and it's nice to keep that in the back of your mind should you need it...

sadly thats just what you get from benchmade sometimes, the quality in materials is always there, but here and there they dont always come together consistently the way that spyderco does. all in all both great knife makers but one wins in the detail department. 0
