Did you buy this? I saw this FS and had no interest. Better to go with a 51 or 62 I think. 0 -

Saw it on the bay today.0 -
Would be a 239 BLK actually according to the catalog picture. click me
They only list the 239 on that picture, but the 259 is the one with plastic inserts. The link will take you to the full sized picture, but here is a smaller one if you'd rather.

Upon more searching in my galleries, here is a picture of the one I had.

And a slightly larger version here.0 -
Oops. Thanks, Patryn. I was thinking 159 and 259 rather than 239. I have trouble keeping up with the balis, especially the older ones. 0 -

Nope i didnt buy it. I was interested in it and put a bid on it, but it went for more than i can afford. I have a 67 right now, but i want a good flipper. the thing i liked about that one is when it is either open or closed the latches actually touch each other unlike the newer ones where there is space in between.0 -
This was the old budget model. It's got Zamak handles which deform easily.
If the handles touch each other, it means the knife probably doesn't lock open or shut particlarly well and the latch will likely move out of its slot quite easily. Also, the handles get loose with very much flipping and you'll either need to peen the pins where it attaches to the knife or get used to a very wobbly knife.
Good call not getting it, if you've got a newer one, you've got a much better knife. (10,3x, 4x, 5x, or 6x series). As far as I'm aware, the Zamak handles knives were 139, 159, 239, and 259. Two different handle styles and either filled holes or air holes. One of these guys around who knows a lot more about balis than myself will hopefully correct me on anything I'm mistaken on.0 -

Gotcha, I've always hade cheap Balisongs growing up and i have just gotten accustomed to that type of handle. Ill just keep my eyes peeled for a 42. I havent actually held one, but i would assume they are much lighter than the stainless steel handles. thanks for the info though!0 -
I just scored a n.o.s. 239S,n.o.s.259S,and a 259 all in boxes,a beater 259 that's got some weird wear and damage patterns but flips great,a slightly shopworn pre-production 31 #193/500 with no box,a used 2550 auto, and a used Striker auto all at the same FL pawn shop yesterday.Still a little lightheaded, doesn't happen like that very often. If anyone wants to see pics I'll email them as I can't figure out how to upload them here. quote:Originally posted by oleary761:quote:Originally posted by Neuro:
