3300 Infidel Scratches
This is a redundant post.
I posted this in the thread, What are you carrying today?
Figured I should post it where it belongs.
My first OTF Benchmade has arrived.
Impressive presentation. Not sure what I'll do with the coin. Probably leave it in the box for the next owner someday.
Cycling the action has produced scratches similar to Keyman's Infidel. Actually worse.
I have contacted BKC customer service. Once by phone and once by email. Amazingly they have never heard of this. WHAT?!
I was told by both to send it in and they will replace the numbered blade exactly like the one I sent in, minus the scratches! Not just a regular unmarked blade and fix the problem. They even sent me a UPS return.
If it indeed does eventually get scratched would you send it in?
Any other Infidel owners experience this unheard of problem?
Here's some pics of the scratches.

I just noticed that my Infidel is sharpened like a Pagan-chisel. Only sharpened on one side.
Is this normal?
Also a bit of wire on the bead at one spot0 -

Yeah, all Infidels are chisel-ground. For the primary edge, that is.0 -
BM Customer Service Nolan Kidwell says this, "All 4...just like a the regular 3300...the pagan is the chisel grind."
My dealer says this, "No all are chisel grind 1 sided only"
Vids I have watched show all four edges sharpened.
Look up the CAD thread where Keyman posted the internals of his 3300. Sharpened only on one side.0 -
OK, actually spoke with Nolan.
The vids I see are where the owner has put a beveled edge on all four sides.
BM stopped doing that six years ago.
So the sharpening of my 3300 is correct.
It is unusually dull for a BM knife.0 -
Sounds like there's some confusion between the primary and secondary bevels.
ALL the OTFs from both the Infidel and Pagan families are chisel-ground when SHARPENED.
The Pagan is actually chisel-ground when beveled as well.0 -
And the confusion is probably from the person who farts in my underwear.
Uhh,. . . . that would be me by the way

Psssh... that's what YOU think..

LOL
I certainly hope there's not anyone else streaking a BM in you underwear, BM.

Mmmm.. Initialism play. It's like a pun, but with letters. 0 -
Not much action here on the Click Forum.
So my brand new 3300BK-1701 is off to BKC to replace the blade with the same number and BM markings.
Hopefully!
Take care of the scratch/alignment problem. And send me a sharp one.
It was my first BM knife that would NOT cut the hair off my arm or pass the thumbnail test.
Missing the Click - Click0 -
I already brought this up and warned people it was going to happen. Jason ignored the issue and didn't respond to my concerns so , I told them so I guess? I guess they will be replacing blades all year for free cause if any of mine are scratching they are going back 0 -
So far so good, mine only get cycled once and put on display though. Razor Sharp

I've got a couple infidels both coated and not coated and have never had a scratching issue. I would assume yours is a unique issue as to me expected every once in a blue moon. Benchmade should make it right as they always do. 0 -

They fixed it. It took two months.
My dealer received five. Three of the five were getting scratches.0
