Anyone EDC their Gold Class?

I’m curious if anyone has actually carried, or currently carries one of their GC models?

I carry MY 556-141 on occasion.
Love that M4 DLC.
I also had a full size gold class Griptilian 551-101 that I put my Ritter M4 blade in and carried for quite a while.
However, I have re-scaled that one since then.

Absolutely. 531-132, 530-111, 551-101 are all in my regular rotation.

I have two of the Gold Grips, which must be the 551-101 that Po mentioned above. I edc one of those and the other stays in the safe.

I find most of the Gold Class over done ( gaudy) have several 940s with the sliver twill & one I purchased to carry around once in a while, but never have. Truthfully I like my 940D2CF & 941D2CF just fine. But if you asking based on a knife value I do have customs I carry. Before 9/11 when you could carry on planes the one custom was my every day carry for years.
I do not EDC unless I've 3 and can replace the knife if lost, lots of safe queens in my collection.
I love that the 940-1 is in the standard line up takes fear out of carrying it & traveling with it, as it can be easily replaced

Awesome! I’m glad you guys do. Life’s to short not too. My collection will most likely end up in someone else’s hands and chances are that person won’t care as much as I did about my fav’s and will either sell or abuse the hell out of them lol So what’s the point!

I carried this one sometime ago before I was a member here.. It was a general user before I new anything about collectability..

A few years back, I used flitz to polish out most of the nicks in the blade/scales.. Most of the scratches were polished out, but you can still see the deeper one’s in the right lighting..

All the blue ano on the outside of the Ti is gone, you can still see some on the inside of the Ti scales.

Actually my daughter likes knives too. When she graduated from NYU, I purchased a custom knife from a famous NYU knife maker. The crown jewel of her collection. So I've no worries at least one generation out the knives will be cherished.

Im happy to hear your daughter shows interest in knives Bill Hammer. I'm trying to get my daughter interested but she's reluctant. Hopefully she catch the Benchmade bug

I have to say the 940-121 hasn't left my pocket since I received it from PM. It or the 806-1101 are what I would consider my grail knife. I have a hard time saying which I like better. Guess it really depends what mood I'm in since they fill somewhat different roles.

I do however swap to a current production knife like the Adamas, 580-2, or my new protagonist if I'm doing stuff out in the woods. Cutting firewood for example, as to not chance loosing an irreplaceable knife. As far as my edc to work I tend to carry a nicer knife in the office and around the plant.

I do have a few safe queens but they are certain limiteds or Vintage BM's that I purchased NIB and can't bring myself to use since they've been new this long. For example my 970, 735, 805-1101 or 730-1501.

I use both 940-121 and 551-101 in my edc rotation. I tend to carry and use them on days I know they are less likely to be put to hard use though. If Imo doing serious house or yard work or out in the woods camping hiking fishing I use my exclusives or dash ones. I no longer have a single regular production Benchmade! All dealer exclusives, dash one , LEs or Gold class!!
