Benchmade 913 nitrous Stryker in D2
Just bought my first Benchmade and it's a Stryker ..so far I love it but find the assist to be a little stiff and hard to find its sweet spot for opening ,can see this knife lasting me a lifetime tho along with my (ahem) Gerber DMF Folder which unfortunately is from china hence buying a Stryker ,what do others think of this blade ?

Marvel at mine everyday. It has taken my #1 EDC spot. Wasnt as smart to make it one of my first or even second choices. (I regret none of mine) 710/910/615/950 all had the spot for some time. Looking for another 710D2 at present. BM D2 is one of my all time favorite steels
Great first round pic
Welcome to the madness.

I like it. I'm not super fond of D2 but it's a good steel and works good. The knife is light for it's size and they fire nice. Also easy to remove the assist if you don't like it and the knife still functions great. 0 -
Here's my Stryker ,it's got the serrated edge ,as I live in the UK this was the only model I could get my hands on .Assisted knives are like rocking horse **** over here 0 -
I've got the 913BKD2. I got it not too long after I chose the CPF name of 710_Lover for my screen name here. If I had gotten the 913 before choosing the screen name, it would be 913_Lover or something similar. The 913 is my EDC about 95 percent of the time. The only reason I carry something else is because I start feeling guilty about having all these great knives and not using them. This may be sacrilegious (sp?), but I am not in any big rush to get the Stryker Axis. I like the liner lock on the Stryker. It is just so easy to use.
Anyway, as you can tell, I love my 913.0 -

Agreed on all points. I feel the love. Well stated.
No Axis, tip down, still awesome.
We can always brag on our Ti liners

Hi- what do you all like about the D-2. I use a lot of it in my work and it's a real pain! Although 440-C is gummy to work soft it is much nicer to grind I think. It burns easy If your not set up right. The D-2 I would think once you lost the edge would be almost impossible to get back without sending it in. I thought I might buy a D-2 knife mostly to see how the blade preformed. What Rockwell C range to you like best? Maybe that is a big component? I usually target about 58-60 RC for most of the stuff I do. I don't make knives or sell to the consumer market. I am just a new tactical knife user trying to learn about them for fun.
Thanks, Vicki0 -
I like D2
Takes a great edge that lasts a long time, id tough, very nearly stainless, but does take some patience to sharpen well.
The trick is that once you get a good edge on it is to touch it up regularly and don't let it get too far gone, otherwise you end up with a manathon sharpenend session to get the great edge back.0 -
I have two Nitrous Strykers in D2 that were my EDC for many years. D2 is easy to sharpen using diamond stones, takes a great edge and holds it well, and is tough. 0
