HK Entourage
Hey fellas, I just ordered a 14701 Entourage from KW and I wanted to know if anyone has any opinions on it. Normally tanto folders aren't my thing but the specs of the Entourage (3.75" BK tanto blade, black aluminum scales, automatic) just scream "tacticool" to me, even though it IS only 440C.
I appreciate a comfortable, pocketable, useful EDC but I've been dying to get something like the 14701 for a while now just for fun. Haven't been able to find many opinions on it though, what do you guys think?

I have the mini Entourage and I love it, but I live in Cali so I can not carry it legally so it does not get that much use. The solid Aluminum handle is great, nice jimping and the ergonomics on the full size I bet are even better. It does not fire as strong as a Pro-Tech auto but it is still fast and the lock up is strong. 0 -
Sweet, I'm glad to hear it. The aluminum is one of the main reasons I picked this one for my first Benchmade auto. I noticed on your signature you own a 520 - how does the aluminum feel in comparison to that? I too have a 520 and I love the subtle "chalky" feel that adds a little bit of traction on the smooth sections of the scale, is the Entourage's aluminim chalky like that? I also like the super-beefy, solid feel of the 520 so I'm hoping its something like that on the 14701. I was going for an auto that just gives off a tough-as-nails, tanklike feeling like the 520 does.
I was strongly considering getting a 5000 because I love my manual Presidio so much but I chose to get something totally new instead. Plus it's a little cheaper. The only BM I own that has 440C that I actually use is my wee little lad the 340, and being so small it never sees HARD use. You said you don't carry your Mini-Entourage much, but how does Benchmade's 440C do as far as edge retention? I have plenty of experience with it in lesser knives from the past but not much with the Benchmade variety. Thank you for your insight!0 -

Have you compare it to Auto Stryker 9101?
