Was wondering that myself.
I sure came close, at that price.
Only thing is... it's not an AFCK

I was the lucky one that wound up with it. Anyone have any idea how many were made? 0 -
Wasn't there a prototype or something of a larger sized Ares, with maybe a 4-inch blade? 0 -
Interesting knife.
Is the blade etching part of an actual production LE run, or just one (or more) custom laser marked regular production knives?0 -

Congrats, man! Great, "hard-to-find" collectable Ares - for amazing price.
Actually, I wanted to bid but overslept. Wonder if my $260-270 bid would be good enough
I already have one NIB in my collection. Seems like yours should be in great "like new" condition. Seems like un-sharped with still factory sharping. Seems (for me) like it set is somebody pocket for a while but no really used.
Maybe just needed to be taken a parts, cleaned up inside and outside carefully. I would use the pencil eraser to take off all colorations on the blade. Then just find and put on the same pocket clip as the original one - and here we are, you have NIB "treasure-level" Ares which every Ares collector might only dream about.0 -
Thanks mhasman,it was a pleasant surprise when I opened it up. Like you said a good cleaning and fresh clip and she's good to go.Not even going to sharpen it just leave as it is blade wise. Now the quest for a 901! 0 -
I can't believe I totally missed this one.
