484 thumb stud?
Hey all, am looking to get a 484, but have concern on all the comments on the thumb stud catching and opening blade on retrieval of pocket. Is this a real concern or Just me. Sorry if this has been addressed as I searched for answer first. Thank you.

I have had no issues -- but i am sure if it did happen a different thumb stud could fix the problem ---

I have had zero issues and I've been carrying my 484 for several weeks now. Great knife! 0 -
I had some issues with the thumb studs opening my knife almost like a "Wave" feature. Like Punisher said, another thumb stud that would work better wouldn't be hard to find. Maybe one off a 940 or a Grip would do. 0 -
I thank you for the responses very much, I went down to shop today and tried one out, and I did see why some might have this happen....so I went home with a 808 loco and 553, What a beast of a knife the 808 is. If Benchmade would change or offer another style stud or if I could just put stud on one side I would buy the 484 in a heartbeat, but will still pick one up some day probably knowing me. Again thank you all for the help. 0 -
From what I have gathered in research on this knife is the thumb stud hole is smaller then any other Benchmade making stud replacment from another BM not possible?? 0 -
The thumb stud on mine worked very well at opening a jar of canned pickles tonight.
