BM42 new user question

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and I've just picked up a used 42. There seems to be a *lot* of play in the handles when the knife is in the closed position (unlatched).

Is this normal? If I send it to LifeSharp will they be able to tighten things up a bit as well as sharpen it?

  Have you tried tightening your pivots?
  
  My idea would be to remove your pivot screws, clean them up, and reassemble with loctite(blue 242). there are many videos on YouTube on proper application of loctite, be sure it ONLY gets IN pivots otherwise it will cause your handles to stick to the blade. Look up "loctite BM 42" on YouTube. There will always be some play in your handles, however without seeing them, it's hard to assess whether it's normal or too much. Hope this helps!

  YES , But be sure that you live in an area that they can legally send it back to you.
