I would have to say know based on a couple of indicators. For one, the can opener is the kind I had on my Wenger SAK, and I've only ever seen that style on a Wenger knife (unless Benchmade got a license to use it and add a thumb stud...). There are some other things that make me think it's not Benchmade-made.

I agree with you P., doing a search there was only one reference to a company selling the item for very low dollars. And there's no box label in the photos...problem it's about the same low-end quality as are many of the real items in the catalog - unfortunately.

I think that it's real. I searched that model number on google and all I come up with is a link to BIg 5 Sporting Goods. I doubt they would sell a fake. I could be wrong.....

what is interesting is that Big 5 only is asking $27 for it

That's the only place I was led to as well and the price made me wonder. But it looks real eh?

Well I personally have no experience with Big 5 but used to spend a ton of time on a certain gun forum that had a lot of people who liked Big 5 quite well so I know it's a good legitemate company.

Jason, what's the story with this 'HK Ghost 3' 14135SBT (121045644940) knife up on eBay with the rescue hook, carbide bit and pop top opener?

It looks legit but I can't find a reference to it anywhere.

This is a legit knife, just happens to be a Big 5 exclusive knife. Nice catch =)

+1...thanks for the confirm Ryan. If it was USA-made it would be tempting...!

FYI - called BKC CS Dept. and confirmed the knife is Chinese-made. So now you know...
