I've heard good things, like they make the 51 a much better flipper, fit and finish is good.

    that's what I heard...

It's a modification that makes a great knife easier to flip. I like that the 51 is light weight for EDC purposes. I do find it a little harder to control after flipping a heavier balisong and going to the 51 for rollovers and such. Little more effort needed.

The flytanium scales are nice if you don't mind discarding your warranty.

    Flytanium scales are awesome!
It's a mod that makes it flip better but at the same time isn't permanent. One could easily swap the scales out at any time.

It also helps that flytanium is a great guy!

I love them! They make such a difference in the feel, weight, balance, etc.
I also bought a couple BM-51Ti's from EDCKnives.com & PacificEdgeCutlery.com (their's have "chevron" grooves that dramatically change the feel), and they too are amazing! I highly recommend either option.

Much respect to Lightning for your, no details left out "how-to" on posting pics. The described method works easily, and without a flaw, thank you for taking the time to explain.

Here's a set of standard 51 style in Satin Finish Ti with a Harpoon regrind I put on it. I retained a crowned spine on it and the top swedge is sharpened.
I guess my warranty is shot
    Wink

This one turned out a little better

Flytanium rocks! To bad BM doesn't listen to the balisong community. Flippers want to love BM but that's tough when they ignore hardcore flippers. Oh well there loss I guess.
    But here's my FlyTi 63

So since my first post I have acquired the 51 and 62 scales, the 51 scales, while nice weren't anyhing special, the 51 blade is too light for Ti scales and the balance was waaaay off.

However, the scales for the thicker 6x blade compliment it much better. I really like my 62 now, flips great!

I also bought scales from the batch flyti put out,
I fully agree that now my 67 flips like a dream.
I do like the 51 scales though

I bought a set of the first release flytanium 6x handles for my 67. I had a problem with the pivot screws getting loose and causing too much handle play. Or at least more play than I like. I applied red loctite twice and still got too much handle play.

Almost like the original set up is not made to use the longer handles. IDK.

Other folks on a different forum had the same problem. Look over at JD
