BMK knives are hand-sharpened so there can be some variation in precise angle, and even a little variation from side to side.

There are a few techniques, like marking your blade edge with a sharpie before taking a pass on a grinding stone and then gradually flattening the angle until it matches the original sharpening job.

The other guys on this forum should be able to give you a much better idea of exactly how to do it.

Do you have and angle cube or app on your phone? Can I ask why is the exact angle so important?
I would just sharpen it buy matching the angle by hand, or send it to Benchmade amd have them sharpen it.

Ok, I get to ask the dumb question. I have been reading posts about blade sharpening and I read repeated use of "sharpie". Is this a highlighter pen? eg for colouring text on hardcopy to draw attention to it?

Also good to annoy someone in the office by highlighting text on their workstation screen when they have gone to get coffee...

I use the Sharpy "permanent" black markers, but anything that would stick to steel will work. The erasable white board markers don't work well.
