Which standoff for the Contego?
I am going to get rid of the backspacer on my 810-1401, but I can't remember which titanium spacer it requires. The .190 x .187, or the .190 x .250?

Knifekits has many different styles of standoffs available for puchase, in both SS & Ti.
The one's pictured above are Ti and have been anodized by Maprik.
I do not remember the size required for the 940.
I do have a 950 and can put some mic's on it to give you the spec.'s you need (later today).
Generally speaking, If I can't find exactly what I'm looking for (size wise) I just get something taller than what I need and then shorten it to the precise spec.'s that I am looking for.0 -
Just for fun I measured the space between the CF handles on my 940-1. The measurement I keep getting is 0.161". That isn't even a normal size, is it? 0 -
.161" does sound a little off.
710's & full size grip/ritter's is .165".
One of the most accurate places to measure is between the liners right next to the stop pin.0 -

Naturally, Knifekits doesn't have titanium spacers in .165" They jump from .150 to .190 That seems like a lot to be sanding off to get to .165"
Next question: Anyone see the pivot that Benchmade uses on the 940-1 in a Titanium version? I'm thinking of replacing the steel one with a Ti one that I anodize blue.
Heck, might as well replace all the screws with titanium screws and anodize them all blue!0 -
Well, knifekits was suggested for .190" Ti standoffs; not .165" Ti standoffs.

OK, I just received a 940-1, and my digital calipers read .161" right behind the stop pin.0 -
LB how do you like the 940-1?
When you figure out the correct size Ti offsets to use PM me as I'd like to get some blue Ti spacers too

So far I really like it! Incredibly light, no flex in the handle, mine is perfectly centered.
I'm not sure where I'm going to find the right spacers for this. I may have to get the .165 spacers and sand them down.0 -

Standoffs are .165".
Are you measuring liner to liner, or scale to scale?

LB glad to hear your thumbs up on 940-1. While 940-1 isn't only knife I ever carry, like a little Swiss army classic knife, I usually have both and if clothing allows then something bigger as well. But 940-1 is so light you can carry two with less weight than one knife,of another model.
Keyman, that handle makes that knife, never bough one but would have if the stock looked like that

It has the same shape as the original Gaucho Aluminum handles except for a small reduction in the big belly that the factory handles have.0 -

I measured metal to metal, as there is 2cm of exposed, un-nested metal behind the stop pin My calipers were in contact with the stop pin and did not contact carbon fiber at all. As long as the .005" doesn't cause a side-side play issue, I'll be happy. Chances are there is just enough flex in the scales to allow for the difference.0 -

I have a knifeworks BM810-1401, could someone please direct me where to purchase some blue ano'ed standoffs?
Checking knifekits again and there is nothing in the .160/.165 size.
Anyone know if standoffs from a BM 710 would fit?
Or what would fit?

i don’t think standoffs from a 710 would work since i’m pretty sure the blade is thinner. if i remember correctly tho, the 810 should take a .190” standoff.

Maybe standoffs from a ZT0452 since they have the same blade thickness ..

Not a fan of standoffs or Stainless Steel backspacers. So had DOAT make some out of G10 my 810-1401 little lighter & better balanced
