    But even with these stock scales, it's still a very grippy knife, so I may hold off for a while.

    I agree. The blade is excellent. Near perfect, except the fact where the place AXIS lock bar meet the blade end was also stone washed. Machining wise, I'm sure it would end up costing more to cover the tang area and remove it after stone wash. I wanted to smoothen them out as it felt as grinding against AXIS bar.

    I have purchased 551-1401 recently, so I have swapped with Green Black G10 handle with this 552-1401.

    Here is my 552GrBk-1401: MFL fusion.

    Just got these in from Ryan, DOAT, went on fairly easily and look great and feels great too, they are a little smoother than I thought they'd be but that'll work itself out.
    Here's a quick shot of what comes in the packet when you get it.

    These are full size Ritter Grip scales, Black with Coyote brown

    Excellent fit and finish on this set.

    Indeed they are, no lock rock, very solid feeling handle now, no hollow sound like before when you opened the knife.

    While I had it apart, I gave the washers on one side a polish and applied fluorinated grease and it's buttery smooth now.

    I was never interested in the deep carry clips on Griptilians until those photos Gary. Wow. That whole package is near perfection. DOAT nails it again.

    yep, well that deep pocket carry clip's retention is what I'd call soft, I got it from Benchmade when my regular clip snapped in two, startled me! With the G10 having light texture, combined with the not as strong clip, it isn't a pocket shredder and since it's in as deep, I don't think the lighter grip of the clip will be much of a problem, worse case I'll try to bend it down some more but I'm clip bending shy at the moment !!

    My small Ritter Grip M390 arrived today, quite nice!, here's some comparison photos of the large and small Ritter M390, the large has custom G10 scales by Death of All Things;

    Both are really nice knives!!

    Thank you for posting side by side, G2. You can really see the differences, especially blade side profile geometry. Interesting the way BKC folks made it smaller without losing the shape of RSK.

    Most welcome, I thought they'd be a handy reference, and in the end I've decided that the Mini will be enough to suit me, guess I should have started there! but then I'd always be wondering
    Wink

    The full size provides a nice feeling folder, but the Mini is more pocketable and the blade size is about right for the typical things I would use a knife for, as I'm not a knife fighter or a hunter, just a knife guy at heart...

    Hey guys, I'm new to this forum, but would like you're input on a question I posted earlier regarding swapping the ritter m390 blade into the 915.

    Welcome to the forum. AS "something" said on other thread, blade geometry would be different.

    AXIS lock is very close tolerance in its geometry.

    Also blade thickness needs to be same. (Unless you can fabricate washer in right thickness, but I wouldn't try.

    915 = 0.130
    551 = 0.115

    By the look of it, the radius from pivot to axis lock seems vastly different.
