    That's it, I'm buying it...

Will it replace my trusty S30V Griptilian with G10 handles, I guess we'll soon find out...

Why do you guys keep putting out knives where you have to remove something to adjust the pivot? The 761 has to have the pocket clip removed, this one I'm assuming you'll need to pop the scales to get at the pivot.

That knife would be good to have as one of the benchmade custom knife options. It would be awesome to be able to select he color's of the g10 handles.

Now it looks like a real knife for real-world use instead of a fantasy blade that is all form, no function.

I dunno, I actually liked the old blade grind better.

I have to say I hated it with that old weird blade grind but I LOVE it now.

This has just become a must have for me
    Cool

what was the reason for changing the blade design?

My understanding was that the old blade was going to be to difficult to accurately reproduce for mass production with their equipment.

That is what I heard anyway. I like the new version better anyway.

My personal opinion is that it is more a matter of 'crowd' appeal. The complex grind would greatly limit their market as compared to a more practical drop point design.

But yes, I am sure the complex grind would greatly increase manufacturing time/difficulty...

I had the 757 for a month then traded it for a LNIB 275. Why? The 757 has the roughest G10 Ive ever seen on a knife. Just slowly pulling it out of my right rear pocket ONE time tore the top of the pocket half off.

Once smoother scales of differing materials become available Im sure Ill get another one as besides the petrified velcro like g10 its an AWESOME knife with amazingly good ergos for such a big knife. That being said the blade profile is almost the same as the 275 so...

Plus 275 is an axis lock.

    Hey all,

I love this knife and every aspect down to the materials is perfect except the sticky g10 top scales. I would think that Benchmade would have product tested this out prior to actually doing major production on it. Overall it's just what I was looking for and I'll be swapping out the grippy scales for something different. Nice to see you guys popping out some good stuff with locks other than axis.

    .

Yup. For left-handers and those real world uses where the weak hand is needed quickly the Axis is supreme.

The roughness of the G10 was solved in about 15 minutes with some light sandpapering. Just remove the screws holding the green portion on, do your work, and replace when done.
I sold mine after I had done this, but not because I didn't like the knife. I just don't tend to carry knives this large.
I miss that one, though, and may end up with another. As has been stated, for the size, the ergonomics are fantastic. It IS a big knife, it just doesn't FEEL like a big knife.

    I with it did too.
    Wink

Of course, any folder is better with an Axis lock. But the Vicar still pegs the awesome meter without it. It's that awesome.

And the Vicar is easy to operate left-handed, but you are left
    Big Grin
    with the pocket clip issue.

No doubt that Vicar is impressive blade. At least using S30v instead of D2 appeals to me on anti corrosion and wear resilient side as well.
