Benchmade blade centering issues?
Hi yall,
New to this forum but not new to benchmades. Id say that I have approx 15-20. My first was in
2002 so my experience with this company is extensive. All my knives before this post had perfect blade centering and no side to side movement. To my dismay, the last few purchases have had the minor defect of off centered blades and blade play. The first was a Volli that was bought new online which I returned because I did not want to wait for the trip back to benchmade. My experience is that they do not have a fast of a turn around. The second Volli was purchased in Vegas that also had a miscentered and loose blade. I bought it because it was numbered in the first 200 made. Yes I sent it back and they fixed it perfectly and added an old school black oxide clip. Nice but still cost me ten bucks to send it back. Last week I got my first mini ritter that also has a miscentered blade. What is up with that?? Come on now that is a bit ridiculous for knives of this calibur. I have another mini ritter arrving today and am hoping that this one is correct. Sorry for the negative post but benchmade I think we all expect more for our money...

Ok, forgive me, I've got low standards
What can I say???
It's all good, I enjoy basic, primal man talk
Then it is long past time that we sat together beside an open fire, late in the evening and shared a good bottle of scotch...
Sometime before too much longer, I hope
I'd enjoy nothing more but I have to make it to your side of the pond first, you know I'm a Canadian citizen.
Indeed, I remember you telling me that before.
So, come on over. I'll load up the truck with beer, bacon, and beef (all the good stuff that we're not supposed to have) and we'll go play in the mountains for a few days.

Oh, and to keep us a bit on track in this thread, I'll bring a couple of my folders that had very poorly centred blades and I'll show you how I fixed them...0 -
I wish it was that simple Lightning, but your offer is taken seriously and put on the backburner as I do plan to make to North America within the decade.
Thank you for the offer it sounds great.0 -
no hurry sir, consider it an open invitation
Just let me know when you are ready, until then we'll just have to hang out around here.0 -
Interesting post, with wide range of topics. I am picky when it comes to my knives. I've likly got over 50 94x and 100+ benchmade in all and can' t recall even one being off center. So after reading this post if ever I get an off center blade I'll know how to adjust it thanks again to MFL. As to other topics
1) throw the soup out open another can
2) have her go commando
3) don't settle for near perfect knives keep the standards high
Regards to all, Bill Hammer0 -
Here is Jason from BKC is suggesting to correct this issue.
