You know...I might just sell every other Benchmade I own just to buy one of those. Well, not EVERY Benchmade...but as many as it takes.

I've spent that much for rifles before, but that would be a new record for a knife.

I spent that much just for the parts to build a pistol, in 1997.

Anyone planning on making theirs into a user?

Actually, yes, I was...until I saw the weight. 3.5 oz. (+/-) over a stock 710. I don't like to EDC much over 5 oz. in my pocket.

That clip would sure look nice hangin' out my pocket, though.

Same here, Sre. I actually consider the standard 710 at 4.6 oz. to be a good maximum weight for carry. 5.0 is fine too, but some of the heavy folders weigh me down.

For EDC, that's about my max. My 805.5 (w/real ivory scales) still comes in under 5 oz., which reminds me...it's about that time of year when I put the ivory back on.

Sre1, those 805-1/2 scales would look nice on one of my 806's. My first piano when I was a kid had real elephant ivory keys. Back in those days a lot of the older pianos had ivory. Plastics were just a bad dream we hadn't had yet. I mean, yes, there was plenty of plastic around, but nothing like it later became. It seems like about mid to late 1960's that Chevy Impala dashboards and tons of car parts went to straight plastic. Anyway...your ivory scales are way nice!

Wait...so the only reason you wouldnt carry is because of the few, Oh zee's?...ok

I wont be carrying it because.. I wont have it..(not this year, anyway)

Never get tired of seeing those Ivory's, Sre1...sure like to tickle those..

I wouldn't carry it because I have a difficult enough time using a $250-$300 knife. That's about my threshold for users.

Hubba Hubba...Not gonna lie, this one looks very nice.
    But dang.. Only 75.

Well, if I had one, I'd carry it. I'd be pretty careful with it, but I'd carry it.

I have some pretty heavy folders. The weight doesn't bother me unless I'm wearing really lightweight clothing, which I frequently do in the summer...but the weight of a 710 wouldn't bother me unless the handle was solid SS or something.

But it's just wishful thinking...I'll probably not be able to acquire one with such a small run.

Ditto... I have several that were between $250 and $300 that went right in my pocket, but the ones that set me back over $300 never get carried.

I think a gorgeous knife such as this would be sitting inside as "safe queen" Yeah, $300 is the limit for user for me at this point.

When there are D2 version and M390 for less than $200, I would carry them instead. Unless I am showing off to fellow enthusiast, but would carry in a case / brag bag, etc.

Dang real nice, but I think I'll hold off on buying knives $400+ from now on.

Any sign of a full carbon fiber scale 710 to come out in the future? Probably the one knife that I would love to see.

Thanks for the info! That's something (7+ ounce weight) that I noticed real quick and wondered why it weighed so much. Ain't no way I would carry a 7 oz. folder.

    And welcome to the Forum!
