Anyone else think that MarkG was giving away a 710 when they first read the post title? ;P

    Yeah. I thought so too.

Still has not arrived. Something is fishy. I will give it till tomorrow. Our mailbox was destroyed by a snow plow so they will not deliver your mail until you get a new one. But tracking does not show any movement. Been here before. Think it may have ended up in a postal employees pocket.

Shep and I had a recent experience where the tracking was stuck, but the knife showed up on time. There's hope...

    ...I hope.

I sent a rebate for a sizable amount of money in before Christmas. It had to go from Wyoming to Minnesota and I paid for tracking/delivery confirmation to make sure it got there. I also took photocopies, etc. About 2 weeks later I checked the tracking and it showed that it was accepted at the post office with no more tracking. I contacted the post office, filed a claim, etc. The USPS was no help at all. I called the rebate place and they said I would need to wait a month before I could confirm whether they received it. I called a week later and they were processing my rebate, so I learned they found it.

Come to find out the post office in MN didn't even scan the package in so that is why there was no tracking history. I guess it was never tracked at any other part of the packages journey. Paying the extra for the tracking was just a waste of money.

Hope your package gets delivered, one thing you have to have with the USPS is patience.

I had a package sent to me in Utah from California in early January. It was a 3-day priority, which comes with tracking through USPS. It didn't arrive on time, but the tracking resumed showing it had gone to
Atlanta. Long story short, It arrived on the 5th day, but it did arrive.

Here is my approximate luck with 3-Day priority packages that I have been involved with:

    Total shipped/received: 400 to 600 approx.
Number to arrive later than 3 days: Maybe 10
Number to arrive later than a week: 1
    Number lost permanently: 1

The one that was permanently lost was one I sent in a regular envelope with a priority sticker attached. It was going to family in Columbus, OH. I assume it was mistakenly delivered to the wrong address and the receiving party didn't return it to the mailman. It wasn't a knife...just children's books with a total value of maybe $35.00

    That's good news, Mark.

I mailed a knife once (priority) and it went to California by way of traveling east to Philadelphia first. Then it went out for delivery several days in a row all over northern California before eventually landing in the right house in the San Fran Bay area. IIRC, it took about 10 days. But it did make it.

Now it appears lost in Michigan. Will have to check this thing out if it gets here. Interested why it took so long.

I will be interested to inspect this parcel as there must be some reason it has taken so long.

I sure hope it is not like my last parcel mess up. Ordered a Spyderco Delica from an eBay seller. The guy tapes the pre-paid paper label on with Scotch tape around the edges only!!!

So the package took just about as long as this one, but get this, I get an envelop from the post office, with a clear front that has the label that has fallen of the package. It was the "hey we deliver a lot of mail, stuff happens" envelope. Well here is the kicker...

THEY SCAN THE LABEL WHEN THEY DELIVER THE LABEL!!!

So you know what it looks like on tracking? The package is delivered. I pitched a fit at my post office, and they corrected tracking to reflect this, but only if you went directly to the USPS site and entered the tracking number. The summary version used by eBay showed it delivered.

So eBay looks into it and says they will not refund my money. I have been a active eBay user for over a decade and half. I pitched a fit and told them they had to check tracking on the USPS site...

They gave me a credit for the item and refunded my money but did not take it from the seller.

Why would you scan a label that was on a package as delivered!?!? Really?

So I hope I have not fallen down this rabbit hole again...

Packaging was intact. I think when it left Knifeworks a winter storm hit the south. Bet a truck got stuck someplace. It was First Class and not Priority and First Class tend to not work as well as Priority.
