Benchmade F58
Ok so my girlfriend wanted to get me a gift and I mentioned that I had never owned a benchmade knife but I've always admired them from people I work with in Law Enforcement. She calls a local knife shop (and authorized Benchmade retailer) and they sell her this over the phone. She knows nothing about knives and trusts this shop. She spends over $300 on this knife and when I get it I can't tell the difference having never owned a knife from them. I went to register the knife on Benchmade's site yesterday and I can't find this model anywhere. I google searched it and all these fakes pop up. It seems this is one you would find at a gun show or something. What can I do? I am really upset that this authorized retailer is selling these as real. I checked Benchmade's website and they do list this shop as "Authorized Premium" whatever that means. Also they sold her something called knife insurance?? I've never heard of this but they sent her a certificate stating if it's ever lost or damaged they would replace it. The whole thing sounds fishy to me. Is there any recourse I can take with them? Any advice would be appreciated.
Here are some photos of it.

It's definitely fake. You should try to return it and notify Benchmade of what shop it is. 0 -
I agree , just take it back .......demand to take it back.
Whats the name of the dealer ???
How was it paid for ?? Credit cards will get your money back for you in most cases.
Sue there azzes .......I hate people like this .......especially when they take advantage of someone Naive.0 -
Take it back, demand a refund, and then notify Benchmade that one of their authorized dealers is selling counterfeits along side the real ones and deceiving customers. 0 -
I work with an Authorized Benchmade Reseller. We were warned if we ever sold a knockoff and they found out or had somebody come and check on us in plain clothes, we would be banned from ever buying from them again. Take the knife back and demand a refund or an exchange for a "real" Benchmade knife. Also demand the insurance gets returned to you in full price as Benchmade offers Lifesharp. Last, never shop there again. I hate resellers that do that kind of thing. I always call them out when I look around the stores in my area. Mostly get kicked out, but I make sure everyone looking around knows and I tell them we sell real Benchmade knives at my store. 0
