Benchmade Nimravus knife
I have two Benchmade Nimravus knifes. Both were bought a different time and from different places. The new one I bought came in today and it looks different then the first one. The Boxes look exactly the same with the same markings, stickers, etc. The difference is the Sheath and the knife. One sheath looks to be of a better quality than the other. On the older one the kinfe only goes in one way, the snap button reads "Pull One Way" and in the back has a Eagle USA tag. The other sheath is lower quality, no tag, knife goes in both ways (finger goove left or right, and button reads "Pull The Dot". Now the knives differ as well. The older one has a large tang and the scales fit slightly smaller on the handle. The tang handle is Beveled nicely all the way around the handle. The newer knife is has a handle the same size of the scales and it is not beveled but smooth all the way around. Below are pictures. Don't know if they are different because one is older or one is not real. I never noticed but both styles are sold at different benchmade dealers online. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The second(lower) seems not good for me
I have only old style with G-10 so different to compare.0 -
The top one looks like mine, and I got mine from RxEnergy, and I don't see him being fooled by a fake. As for the bottom one, I don't know. There are certain things that make me think it's also real. I've found pictures of the Nimravus and Nim Cub II with G10 scales that have the smaller finger choil like the bottom one. 0 -
I have seen web sights like Brownells, BladeHQ, and a few others that show the bottom one as the one they offer. Then there are other sights that show the top one. I am starting to think it's real just a different production run. Since the sheath is different as well. I know that some knife makers make small changes to from year to year to either cut cost or define a production run. I am sure not having to bevel the tang is cheaper and they could save a few bucks by getting a slightly cheaper sheath. In general the knifes are exactly the same. You can put both on top of each other and they match perfectly. I just want to know that if I send the knife in to get it sharpened I won't have any trouble. Is there any Benchmade staff people that can help on this one? 0 -

As you can see the knife looks exactly like the bottom one but a different color for the scales.0 -
I see more differences as you mentioned but we were asked not to talk openly about.

I have 3 140's and they all have slight differences and the sheaths are all completely different. It is obvious that all of mine are different ages, so I think Benchmade just made minor changes over the years. 0 -
Like Laser said, there are several things which make the bottom one look a little suspicious, but comparing mine, there are enough differences between them that I think they both could easily be real. 
I also have another one (I left it at work unfortunately, so I can't post a pic) that has a similar handle to the bottom knife in the OP, except with G10.0 -
Does anyone know if Benchmade requires you to send in the knife before they give you a yes or no as to whether or not it is real. Or if there is number I can call to ask. I tried to call 800.800.7427 but it looks like I will have to wait till Monday. 0 -

Both mine(at home) are pretty old with Elishewitz logo
they looks totally other,also can't go in my Picasa account have more photos there
but still think your on bottom is nor real.0 -

We did actually redesign the Nimravus around 2006-7 by making it have a more profound finger groove. With that said, it looks like they're both real.

We usually only give concrete confirmations by physical examination. In some cases we can tell you by picture if it's an obvious design we didn't produce.0
