151 Fixed Grip SPE?
Just bought a 151 fixed Griptilan satin plain edge. I've never even handled a fixed Grip before but I couldn't pass it up since I've never even seen a satin plain edge for sale. I've seen plenty of the Ritter version and dozens of the black combo edge knives.
Anyone know when and how long the standard fixed Grips were offered? Is the satin plain version uncommon or have I just not seen them?

The 151 & 151SBK were in the catalog from 2006-2009. I had a satin plain edge and I've seen a couple others for sale over the past few months. I do see the SBK version for sale a lot more often though. 0 -

Thanks!
I'm the SBK must have been sold at military PXs or something. When I've seen them listed used on eBay the sellers had mainly other SBK military knives. I've also seen them at the pawn shops near a local base.
I never had any interest in the SBK but couldn't pass up the SPE version.0 -
That seems like it would be an excellent all-around knife! I like the look..
Does it have 2 different materials in the handle? A bit like the Freek maybe?0 -

2 different materials, but they are the opposite of the Freak. Grivory (or valox or whatever) for the outer, black portion. Softer grippy rubber for the inner, grey part.
Glocker, I have one of these too. Don't see them often in plain edge or satin. What blade steel is yours? There were the standard 154cm models, but also some D2. Both coated combo, and SPE. I like the 152 better for a number of reasons, and carry that one all the time.... but have never been able to part with the 151. Now it lives in an emergency kit in a cubby in the truck.0 -

Man, I'm loving this 151. Such a great general purpose fixed blade. 0
