916SBKORG Testing and Demo [VIDEO]
We have had a lot of interest in this model, so I decided we should do a video for it. Enjoy.

I like that you guys are getting more and more elaborate with these test videos. I also like that you just hit stuff with a hammer and find junk around the shop as well so it's not sterile lab results. 0 -

Thanks. Tracy and I film the tests and I edit the videos myself. We do perform a variety of standard mechanical tests so our Engineering Dept. has solid repeatable data. But we do a lot of Product Performance Testing, which I think is far more important to the end user. Cut testing, chopping, using a mallet to baton the blade, tip prying, etc, etc. speaks more to people than raw numbers. Plus, it's a lot more fun.0 -
Man! What a cool job. Getting to beat on a knife like that just to see what happens. Thats awesome. 0 -

Love this vid. I like the prying section to show what this folder can do. Did any play develop in the pivot after the prying? It would be interesting to see how much force the knives would take in the lateral direction as well like when used for prying. This would be considered abuse for a folder, but I'm guessing most people have used their knives for this at least once. Anyone else want to see this too? Or maybe apply a set force and see if play develops or deformation occurs?? 0 -

Nope, no pivot play occured after the box pry demo. I expected a little, but found no side to side or up and down play after the test. We certainly do lateral force application testing and can share that with everyone as well. I'll put it on the list and work torwards providing that information. Thanks0 -

Oooo, now that's got my interest. I've always wondered about that.0
