*Spoiler alert* nothing new in the catalog that I saw. Hope they are going to just keep going with the release whenever it's ready type thing they have been doing.

I like the look of the new Volli. Good size, and ergonomic looking design. Looks like a Medium Barrage. Will be picking up one of those. Interesting model number one million and one (1000001).

Well, the balloon broke earlier than I thought.

Yes I'll probably buy the Volli, I like everything about it except the Model numberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

But as for the rest, I already own them.

Now...what would make this 'Knife' year interesting HAS to fall on LE's and special offerings. C'mon Benchmade...let's make those happen please!

The Benchmade catalog disappoints me every year. Is is so hard to make a 940 NOT green???
    Roll Eyes

But they release assisted knives like the volli, new emissary and gold class emissary. Cause we all LOVE assisted knives!

I'm glad there are people like Roger from knifeworks...

SHOT Show knives of 2012 and 2013 - Exactly my cup of tea. But they coated all three blades, i'll pass. Why Benchmade, why? And they really seem to hate carbon fiber...

It is really hard to get a decent Benchmade these days without "limited Edition" written on the blade.

    Just my 2 cents.

I am assuming that was sarcasm about we all loving assisted knives?

I don't see a problem with just buying LEs if that's all the appeals to someone.

The first SHOT show knife did have a noncoated blade for last year.

    Lol.

    Actually, looks like 3.

    1. a 3"ish liner lock
    2. What looks like an auto 610
    3. small sub 3" fixed blade. (neck knife)

The mini Rukus continues to live on in the HK line this year. Has any other model enjoyed such a long postmortem life? I mean the 42 had some extra runs after they were discontinued, but those weren't actually in catalogs and everything.

I'm just glad the HK line is getting more made-in-America love, with 9 US models and 6 imports. The 7-digit model numbers seem a little odd though ... are those just stand-ins until real model numbers are published?

EDIT: Not sure if people mean HD or HK. I'm talking about the Germans.

I guess we'll be alright, the last knife I bought that actually appeared in the catalog was the 915. I hope we get that 940LE soon.

Limited editions from Roger and the like are nice but not thrilled with the new offerings. On the upside I (hopefully) won't spend as much money this year.

I haven't been too excited about the 2 years of production run offerings.
Although I did pick up a Contego.

This will be the year that I bought an HK branded flashlight because there weren't any knives of interest in the same category. Never thought I'd see the day.

I like how the 940 looks enormous compared to the 941 next to it on page three (second after the cover)

    Well Joe,

It’s almost enough to drive a man to drink, but then when did we need an excuse to have a beer anyway..

Interesting that HD is gone. I wonder how that came about. I have some HD knives but really wish they didn't say HD on them

I think you have a lot of company in this; Look around at steeply discounted Benchmades and you'll find the HD logo on most.

We have a Harley dealer just up the street from us. Some few months ago I walked in to ask if they carried BKC products...the salesperson said "we can't sell them to our customers, they cost too much."

I have never owned one, even with the sterile logo on the blade, and not a few of the offerings were/are very nice looking knives...but I guess the market's directing these to the dustbin.

Thanks for pointing out about HD. I agree the huge logos were a turnoff, but the Hard Tails are nice knives. The lightweight version is like a 940 mating with a Griptilian. I'm going to pick a few more of those models up.

I do love Harley Davidson Motorcyles but I was nevery really interested in them as a Benchmade Knife, I suspect that others felt that way also and now that they are gone I wonder if they will get some kind of a cult following by Harley lovers eventualy...

    +1
The Harley really put cheesiness on the Benchmade knife.

I did have a friend who wanted a 960 user and bought one cheap, we bead blasted it to a nice satin aluminum, got the HD stank off of it. Walla, looks nice now!

    Good riddance

I wouldn't mind a couple of the knives being brought back without the HD junk on them though... actually, pretty much just the hardtail.
