My 581/M390 has developed a very small, but annoying, amount of left/right blade play and I can't seem to adjust/tweek it away. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  Send it back to the factory for a free warranty repair. Will cost you less than $4.00 via USPS. You can ask for a shipping refund if you feel strongly about it. No magic answers for small mechanical devices consisting of less than 10 parts.

  If you're feeling handy the adjustment pivot's buried under the left scale. You need a T6 for the handle screws and T10 for the pivot bolt. tighten the pivot a bit at a time and see if that helps. This will not void your warranty.
