707-1701
425BK 707-1701 960-RED
I'm sad to see the 707 Sequel get the axe. But glad to see a nicely done limited at its close.

Several great releases in recent years. Last year's 707-161, and going back a little further the curiously-small-run 707-1201. Any other notable Sequel limited editions? Was the first forum knife a 705 or 707? 0 -

The 707-161 was indeed a beauty but of course pricey. Of the affordable versions, I think my favorite was the 707-701

That forum knife was a 705CFBC1HS (Carbon Fiber, BC1, High Speed). I think there was a couple other limiteds but I don't remember the model #s. I know one was green.
Looks like that new one sold out at most of the big retailers pretty fast.0 -
When one of the biggest only gets around 20 ... there must be a ton of resellers around the world getting these. 0 -
I didn't realize the SHOT Show knife had fluted scales...VERY nice. 0 -

Great shot ACAR.
Did you stonewash the blade on that Gravitator?0 -
#46 is on eBay for $204. Not my auction, just a heads up.

Here's the thing, for me, at least: why put metal scales on full, metal liners? At least use nested liners if you're gonna use metal scales. Either that or use some other material than metal for the scales. As cool as it metal scales may look, it just seems...I don't know...redundant? Superfluous? HEAVY?
Just my opinion.0 -
I see your point.
But it's never a concern for me with Ti scales.
I'm always happy to have them.
With this aluminum 707, it doesn't bother me either.
Well, except that it's not titanium...

I totally get where you're coming from. That's actually one of the many reasons I love the much-hated original Griptilian scales: they allow for a full handle wrap around the lock/liner/pivot cartridge.
Here, I think it's a matter of established design and return on investment. If the original 707 had full liners and G10 scales, they'd have to completely re-engineer the handle just for this limited run. Since the 707 is discontinued, there's no other opportunity to earn back the R&D investment involved in updating the handle design. If they didn't do it for the 707-161, there's no way they'll do it for this knife.
So yeah I totally agree with what you'd like to see. It would have been cool on this model. But it was never going to happen.0 -

/|\ +1 my 707-1701 just delivered & yes as PO said pretty BUT this is tail heavy & if done in same blue color G10 would have been better. Nested liners on hopeful replacement would be great. Lastly 1/4 short clip would keep it away from thumb stud. This is still a great designed knife ( best sub 3" in BKC history) that needs lighter materials ( nested liners,& CF or G10 scales). Jason please make it so.

Wire Brush Treatment. Turned out nice but I lost the tip of the thumbstud in the process.0 -
It's nice to see benchmade go outside the normal material box with 707-161 using the Titanium, Copper Nobium.
Now if they could do some more exotic natural materials that would be cool. Like these:
Woolly Mammoth Tooth, Meteorite, Woolly Mammoth Tusk

Those are beautiful, ACAR, and I agree it would be nice to see some of those materials from Benchmade. I did see an abalone shell Benchmade on ebay a few months ago, so maybe there's hope for some less common materials. 0 -
Those William Henry knives are fabulous. They do come at fabulous prices. I'm down to just one. When I kept it I told myself I would carry it, but I never do. It might have to go. I'm trying to
