705 Washers?
(See post below for correction - this post is wrong) In a discussion at BF, there was a post from someone whose 705 has nylon washers. That was news to me because the two I've got both have brass washers. One was purchased fairly soon after the 705 was introduced and the other one was purchased around the time that Benchmade discontinued the 705. Purchase dates obviously don't equal production dates, though. Does anyone know anything about the history of washers in the 705?

Would you like me to post pics of the 705s with nylon washers ?
Somebody also posted a pic in one of the pic threads of a 735 with nylon washers.0 -
Found the pic thread.
Look at post #133.

Gonna do something you don't see very often on the internet - say I was wrong! I just took both apart and memory is not what it was, both have the gray Nylatron (like Emerson) washers. Although I may have both ends of production more or less covered with these two (early ATS-34, late 154CM), it's possible that the 154CM 705BK had been on the dealer's shelf for years, so who knows when it was actually made (though obviously after the change from ATS-34)...

Ive had knives with nylon washers ...... they were just older models.
They changed to bronze .......I dont know when etc. but these nylons were top of the line in there day.0 -
They're still very serviceable. I mean, really, tell me when you last heard of someone wearing out nylon or Nylatron washers??? The question related more to dimensions rather than service life.

The old washers were delrin washers, not nylon. 0
