Bedlam Sheath
Just wondering if there is a belt sheath from BM that the Bedlam will fit in? Does anyone know of or use one for their 860?

Nope, I've never come across a sheath for an 860.
Pocket clip works great for me... I actually really like it.
Doesn't matter much anyway. For a second here, I'd thought you were gonna ask about sheath ideas for the FIXED BEDLAM.
That's the one you should be asking about.
The only Bedlam that needs a sheath is this one:

I use the clip and I have never had a problem with it. I tend to carry more than one knife at a time and sometimes I would like to have the Bedlam in a sheath and another in my pocket.
A fixed bedlam would be sweet!0 -

I gotta have respect for a man that carries 2 blades with him. Hmmmm, a Bedlam paired with another blade? May I ask if you plan on going to war?
The Bedlam is so capable, it needs no backup.
But I feel you, Kyle.
The more blades the merrier.
Afraid I can't be of much help in terms of where to point you for a sheath maker. I simply forget who here did custom work in the past, as I never have pursued such a thing for my folders. Hopefully the other guys can chime in and get you sorted out.
I will suggest to you though, that if you do have one made for your 860, to go for a horizontal belt carry. That'd be my preference anyhow. In my mind, the Bedlam would shine in such a sheath, as I feel it's a perfect horizontal candidate due to it's canted butt end. That'd make for a pretty easy pull-out from your belt, if the sheath wasn't too deep. It's an almost pistol grip sorta handle in that regard... maybe that's a stretch, but I think you can catch my drift.
Good luck with the sheath.
If nothing else, keep hoping for a sheath with a FIXED BEDLAM inside for Christmas. That's what's on my wishlist anyhow.
Cheers.

I would definitely prefer a sheath as you described.
I usually carry a large and small knife for different situations that may present themselves. Sometimes I like a big knife like the Bedlam or Adamas but other applications may be more suited for a 94x or a smaller traditional knife.
I have found it is good to be prepared for any situation that may present itself. Or at least I try

Totally understood. I used to always carry 2 blades with me, tactical & EDC, respectively. Now, I find myself with so much other gear, I try to just opt for one knife at a time. So something to cover both needs.

Also, can't forget my beloved 761. 0 -
Maxexperdition makes a double knife sheath 0 -
Additionally, some pretty cool fixed blade sheaths can be had with a smaller exterior pocket, either for a stone or a smaller folder. I've seen a bunch of guys with that setup who are afraid of losing their folder in the woods.
But my guess is you should go after the horizontal carry sheath, and clip your favorite EDC to your pocket like you've always done.
I still occasionally do the same these days now that I think about it.
My setup being a Bradford G3 on the belt (horizontally, of course) paired with whatever BM I've got clipped to my pocket. Usually this happens when I carry a folder I'm not too apt to mess up. I use all my knives now, but I'm careful about which ones get used for certain tasks.0 -
I happen to carry a g3 occasionally myself, that is definitely similar to what I'm wanting. 0 -
Love the G3.
Still, there's something to be said about it's sheath. It's pretty decent.
But it's the way it carries that keeps me going back to it. The simple fact is, although it's a fantastic blade, I wouldn't carry it half as much without it's horizontal belt sheath. So practical and useful. Comfortable and concealed. Total win.
I'd love to see Benchmade put something similar into production.0 -
Oh yeah, I agree completely 0 -
Mac, I am confused please help.
I thought we talking Bedlam folder here, as a Bedlam fixed blade is not yet in BKC's line up.
And not to trash the dreams of 1/2 dozen fellow forum members who have a passion for it the fixed Bedlam may never be manufactured.
Side note picked up the G3 on your & others recommendation, can't knock it but I've a couple small fixed blades IMHO surpass the G3.0 -
I got a great case from Bill's Custom Cases, based on the recommendation of someone here. I wouldn't be surprised if Bill could whip something up for you if you give him a call. www.billscustomcases.com 0 -
Yes, Bill the wise old voice of reason was bound to chime in... Rightfully so.
True, this thread pertains to the 860 Bedlam, and a prospective sheath for it.
It was inevitable though that I mentioned the FIXED counterpart to the 860, although it magically exists only in a few pictures. When you say "sheath" and "Bedlam" in the same post, you're gonna also see the word "FIXED" in the same thread. At least until we actually own one. Sorry Bill. I'll try to show more restraint though.
I did however have a suggestion for Kyle to carry his 860 horizontally, based on being partial to my G3 carry. That's how that was brought up. Notice I praise the G3 mostly for it's sheath set up.
The handle could be improved. It's on it's way though.
Shall we move to another FIXED blade thread??
We shall.
