New Benchmade models that we would like made
Ok so there are a bunch of knvies that people are asking for that we don't just want, but really need! here is what I think Benchmade needs to make for us, and we will thank them by buying them all up.
Stryker axis lock in spear point and tanto with at least s30v steel.
552 with m390 and g10 patterned after the Gold class 551 cf scales
940 with cf or g10 handles. pleeeeease? I need a 940 again and don't like aluminum
some nice steel would be a bonus
A 520 with m390 for Trailboss so he can try out m390
cf or g10 scales.
a flipper with an axis!!!!!!
any other superb ideas? I don't think these are far fetched at all.

Those are all excellent ideas! other than the axis Stryker and the flipper they wouldn't even need to do any redesigning, so I would think they could easily be done as limited editions.
Another one I would like to see is the 14205 brought back with better steel.0 -
Agree on the Axis flipper.
BM is already on it. No idea when though....
For the here and now?
How about an M4 805 / Black stonewashed blade.
That's what I would like.
(With 800-1001 scales of course)
Then there is the Axis tip up contoured scaled 812...
G-10 Ritter Grip...........
I could go on all day.........
No, really I could..........0 -

And I would probably buy every knife you came up with
Maybe if we throw enough ideas out there Benchmade will make a few of them...0 -
I think as long as stuff isn't all crazy and way out there this is a very interesting topic. I hope people don't start coming up with stuff like "I want a 612 with titanium handle, axis lock and m390 blade" stuff that just almost no one would buy..
actually... I'd probably buy that knife now that I think about it0 -
How about a "bring back the Rukus" campaign? (I'd also go for a mini.)

I like the Rukus well enough but actually for use far prefer the HK 14205. For me it's way more ergonomic and has a better blade to handle ratio. Of course I am all for the Rukus coming back with a better clip. I always wanted winewood for mine, too. They sure look sharp with the winewood scales.0 -
It's been said for a few years now by more than a few of us, so I'll say it again:
Axis mini-AFCK!!
Also:- mini-Barrage in M390
- Presidio with G10 scales that won't destroy your pocket (M390, M4, or 154CM)
- Rift in M390
- Griptillian/mini-Grip in M390
- Barrage & mini with G10 scales
Oh, and in case anyone forgot:
Axis mini-AFCK!!0 - mini-Barrage in M390
-
556-1001 was a run of 200 minis in M390. Getting a Ritter in M390 would be all sorts of hot though, esp. with those sculpted Gold-class-style handles in G10. 0 -
Yep, the 556 has already been done in M390, I wouldn't mind an M390 551 though. 0 -
A mini version of the 581 would be cool too. 0 -

I'm not talking a limited edition. I'm talking a regular production Griptillian in M390.0 -
That's not a bad idea, they could do an upgraded version of the Griptilian with M390 and G10 - like they did with the Barrage. 0 -
I really want Benchmade to make a hawbill bladed knife with the AXIS lock. That would make me weak in the knees. 0 -

I fully endorse most of your statement!

G-10 Ritter Grip...........
Put the -901 scales on that 805, and I'm in.
G-10 Ritter? of course!
M390 520 with either G-10 scales patterned exactly like the stock scales, OR make a 520 with the 525-701 scales....and I'd buy several.

940 with cf handles and M390 or M4 deserves its own 40-50 page thread. 0 -

That sounds like an awesome combination I would buy one of those for sure. I like the sound of an AXIS flipper that would be pretty wicked 2.0 -

I did that with a 805, it's nice! 805 v2.00 -

I had one; sold it and bought another 520A instead.I'd probably try another 805 though if the scales aren't slick.

Not exactly like the stock scales... the cheese grater needs to be smoothed out a little. The 525-701 pattern would be good.0 -

I'd buy several 520 with 525-701 scales and an M390 blade.

940 with CF....Whoa.... 0 -
805 m4 coated blade, better handle!
Please!!!!0 -
I will be echoing suggestions already made, but here is my list:
A satin, MDP Lum Stalker version of the LFTi.
520/525 with fluted G-10 scales, ala Gold Grip.
A manual Axis or Axis Assist version of the 3550. Or, heck, a G-10, carbon fiber, or even aluminum handled version of the 530 for that matter.
A lightweight skeleton handle neck knife - essentially a V-ground, drop or clip point version of the Instigator.
Mini 581 (586?)
A 5-5.5" fully flat ground, full tang, utility fixed blade. As much as I love my Nimravus, I'd love to have a Benchmade fixed blade just a little bigger.0 -
All of the above and everything thats still on BACKORDER!!!!!! whats up with that. 0 -

Yes! A 586
That would be my first request.
0 -
Agreed.
We have the 585, but it's very different as offered in Valox and 154CM.
If we had the 586 (which would be a hit for those with the requirement for 3" or less blades...) I would ask for M390 steel for the blade, but given it's overall size, suggest the scales in done black G-10 only.
As a request of Laser and/or others, I would also ask someone to do PhotoShop(s) of both versions of knife/scales to see what would work best.0 -
I would like to see my 747 dreadnaught to be made but I bet even if BM wanted to i think they wouldn't out of respect for bob lum 0 -
Agreed, they (Benchmade) probably would not. If measured against Bob's originals, the 741 and 746 would very close to the actual specs. Replace the Axis for LinerLock is all for the most part.
And whether we like them or not, using the large clips on these two models is yet another nod to his much missed brilliance as a designer.
If Bob's handmade's were valuable when alive, they are priceless as collectables now.
