755
Was the 755 only made for one year? Is anyone a big fan of this one?
I have one, but never seem to use it. I got it originally because of the M390. I really don't like the lock on it and the scales are too rough.
I would love to give it some pocket time, but I seem to go 581, griptilian or Bedlam when I want something bigger than the 530.

It was made at least a couple of years. 0 -
I used to whip out my 755 when I had a large pile of cardboard to break down.
If you can get the thing truly sharp, it makes for a great user, IMO. The rough scales compliment the stout blade, as I've always considered this knife a harder use piece of cutlery than most of my other Benchmades. It's been a tried, tested and true folder in my experience. The only thing the 755 is lacking other than an axis lock is... Nothing. This thing was meant to cut. Meant to be an all purpose utility tool with a sharp edge. I basically think of it as an Xacto knife on steroids.
I'm not sure why I don't carry much anymore...0 -
Thanks, guys. I'll dig it out and give it another shot. 0 -
I mean, the 755 is limited slightly by the shorter blade length, but not by the shape (or thickness). It has some belly and a decently pointed tip. I think it really shines when slicing through tougher material like cardboard or rope. The Sibert handle design is great for this too, as it's obviously meant to fill up the hand and provide traction when doing your hard cutting. It's something I really enjoy about his knives. The MPR is no exception. It is a chunk for such a short knife, but that is the point. 0 -
Good points are that it is stout blade, and made with M390. 0.16" blade thickness is a real delight.
But, sorry to say it never appealed to me...
1. It doesn't have AXIS lock. After all, I am loving Benchmade mostly due to AXIS lock.. I would have a had time working with my left hand.
2. Handle length being less than 4" made it very difficult for me to use as a solid blade.
3. Tip down? Not really my cup of tea...
I think I'll wait for other Siebert design with AXIS lock w/ M3900 -

I think the lefty issue might be what made me not like it as much as I thought I would. It was probably subconscious because I didn't like it, but couldn't figure out why. I'll give it some pocket time and see.0 -

Nice point. I am predominantly right-ambidextrous, so I'll miss some of the issue like this from time to time.
I would really love this, if it has Axis lock.0 -
Agreed. Although I don't mind titanium monolocks, the 755 would have been SO fantastic as an Axis lock knife. 0
