Verify Benchmade 42 Authenticity (please)

Hello,

I am a new member here and happy to be amongst users with knowledge. Thank you for your consideration.

This past weekend at a local trade center, I found two different Benchmade Bali-Songs. One is a 42s (serrated) that I believe to be authentic and the other is a 42 which I do not believe to be authentic. After close inspection at home, I deemed the 42 to be a fake.

Many details led me to believe I purchased a fake and I'm hoping this community could verify my findings. I have tried to upload some photos to help...hope it worked. Thank you again.

  Yes, that is a fake.
  We generally don't discuss in open post what details give away a fake but the fact that the 42 pictured isn't channeled is a dead giveaway.

  I edited my post as not to discuss details about fakes. But could you explain "isn't channeled" to me. I'm not sure what you mean by that.

  The handles of a 42 are made out of a solid piece of Titanium. The inner part where the blade goes is referred to as being channeled.
  
  So simply put, the fact you can see the blade when the 42 is in the closed position means it is a fake.
