2550-RED from Dec. 2001

I just traded for this knife and would like to know if anyone here knows anything about this. It is a 2550 Mini Reflex but is red and appears to have been one of only 25 made. It is dated Dec. 2001 on the blade. I didn't know that Benchmade did "sprint runs" so I am curious about the history of this knife. Could this have been a "forum knife"? Does anyone know? Thanks!

  Its not a forum knife. For a time, BM would do small runs in special colors. There are several different knifes they did this with. The idea would be to have every color with matching numbers. There are some guys that do. That's cool. So if you find a guy that needs the red #25 to complete his set Im sure he would want it pretty bad. Otherwise its just a cool red reflex.

  Thanks for the info. I was thinking "knife of the month" when I wrote "forum knife". Interesting that they would put a month and year on it.
