Definitely near the top of my 'to purchase' list... Oops, didn't see the LE part. I'd want that as a user.

Love that Jade/clear G10. I wish BKC offers to G10 customer selection.

So are these shipping to dealers yet? I got the email from bladeOps that their one was in stock and it disappeared right away last week. I was told by the local dealer that mine had been ordered but they had no idea when they would receive it. That was the word as of this past Friday.

If I seem anxious it’s because I’ve already paid full list plus tax for it. Wasn’t crazy about that, but such is the price for exclusivity I suppose. Thanks!

Yes, they're shipping to dealers. It depends on the ship date of the order it's placed with, so it really comes down to the dealer, not us.

Cool, so they are trickling out. Awesome! Thanks Jason.

    Got mine today.

I like the jimping but that axis should have been black.

Not sure if this is a keeper, an EDC or one for the back of the safe

"Axis should have been black" is a comment I've heard about quite a few models. I wonder if it's something to do with the coating not holding up well enough.

I had one built in the custom knife builder and the coated axis gets a little sticky and had to have then fine tune it for smoother operation. I wonder if those can be made with a different coating to avoid that? But they look awesome coated.

/|\ No one likes when things get sticky. Compromise maybe coat axis buttons & leave axis bar uncoated

Black oxide studs do get a bit "stickier" than satin studs. That's why I prefer satin, personally.

DLC works great, however. That's why we coated the 535 Ti lock stud: to increase lubricity in a metal-on-metal interaction that generally creates some galling/sticking. And it works awesome!

    It's all one piece, actually.

    Holy nuts & bolts Batman!

Watching lots of TV Show “ How It’s Made” I assumed those end buttons were press fit on to the bar.

Appreciate you teaching old dogs new tricks

    I got ya, Bill.

Those studs are turned to a single piece out of round bar. No assembly required.

/|\ Amazing to me how the ends of a round bar can be flattened out on both ends to form the buttons. And the length of the bar can be made various lengths. Inventing/ designing the machine to make the knife parts may take even more know How than designing the knife.

A lot of our components are precision turned, similar to how a lathe works. It's pretty crazy what you can do once you get deeper into it, but I'd have to agree with you about the manufacturing being at least as complex as the design itself. Sometimes more so.

They are indeed. We haven't shipped all the orders yet. They're a bit tricky to find, but still out there.

That's pretty hard for me to say, unfortunately. Only one per dealer makes it awful hard to point you in the right direction. I don't know who has already allocated theirs and who hasn't.

Is (was) this one only available in the US or has it also been released to dealers worldwide ?

  • bmkjason
I think all dealers had access, although I'm not positive about that.
