Did it come out a bit more shiny than you'd like on that 583 in the Earth Brown?

Hi Jason! Yes, I had shiny skulls. It looked a bit Gucci.

Yeah, that's probably about what you'd expect off those lasers. A more matte finish with a coated blade is interesting to accomplish.

I don't know how you could communicate that info to have someone adjust power settings, nor if you could even expect someone to be able to do that for one specific order.

You should holler at our boy Ryan though. That's right up his alleyway, and he's moved a mountain or two before.

    Hey, Ryan!

We know different effects can be acheived, correct? We have light colored logos on BK blades. I don't think the logos are actually shining through the coating. We have dark etchings on satin blades...

I guess my voice didn't reach him.

Jason - can you help me get Ryan's attention?

    Thank you!

I'm thinking this project might be worth a try...

On my previous one with the coated 154CM blade, I was able to take some of the shine off the etched spots with some stainless steel browning solution. It was about half successful. With an M-4 blade, even if it came out shiny, a blackening solution would be much more effective than on stainless.

It'd be an expensive experiment, but I really like the concept.
