CBM's Customized Benchmades
I got to thinking, maybe I should stop trashing up the Product Photos section of the forum with multiple posts about specific knives or scales.
Maybe it would be a better idea to group these different mods into one accumulating post.
What do you think?
I'll start....

I really like the 940 in Blue DOAT, really sharp looking. (no pun intended). As much as I love the factory green, I may just have to swap those out for Blue G10 someday soon.
And the scales on the Ritter, always loved those, simply phenomenal. I've seen a bunch of great work from you over the last couple of years, but I think these are you best work yet.

really nice job on the lscf DOAT, but still liking the Ritter grip with silver twill better.
What is the base material on those anyway? regular cf?0 -
The one in my first post there? Yes, that's regular CF, I think it's the 3k pattern.
Or did you mean this one with the G10 behind the silver twill?

Are the shoulders in the holes a new thing?
Somehow, that really adds something to the look.0 -

Yes, it is new.
Thanks perado.
I agree it definitely adds something to the look.
This new "stepped holy" will undoubtedly work well with multi colored layered materials too.
Imagine the effect the "stepped holy" would have when applied to something like a Earth Brown/White/Black G10.0 -
I like those stepped holes keyman.

Almost forgot I made myself a backspacer of my own for my 940, that other one belonged to a customer. This one is flush with the back but still has the lines.

White paper Micarta, correct?
Have not seen white paper in a loooong time. Please let us know how it wears and how white it actually stays with use.
The reason I ask is that couple of knives I have in white Canvas turned black in no time, simply from handling - the oils from my hands I think. I am curious if the white paper stays 'cleaner' than the Canvas did...0 -
Canvas micarta is porous and will absorb small amounts of fluids like dyes and oils.
Paper micarta is not.
Paper micarta is very dense with no open fibers.
So, oils from your hands and such will show up as dark marks on the surface of the Ivory paper micarta handle.
But, they are easily wiped away with a wet napkin or paper towel.
No soap necessary.0 -
Good to know, thanks Key
Will have to keep that in mind for future projects0 -
