KW 810 Contego clip query
I just got this beast of a knife in and its impressive to say the least! I like everything about it but for one thing, the clip. It looks great but it's not so practical.
Being as its a heavy knife, combined with the smooth scales and a satin polished clip, I find that retention is barely there. A bit of an issue for me. Is there an alternative to this clip, a parkerized version should offer slightly more grip perhaps...?

That 810 clip is usually the clip that everyone wants. Have you removed it and then bent the under tab with some needle-nosed pliers to add more tension? Sometimes I do that and the clip gets so tight that I can't get it over my pocket material...so I have to do it again to back it off a little. 0 -
The deep carry Contego and Adamas clips only come in polished stainless or painted black. I do wish they came in the black oxide finish. Like the last post stated, it can be easily bent for more tension. 0 -

I agree that I wish BKC carries deep carry clip with black anodized. For the tension, I am OK with it. Any harder, it will start ripping my pants pocket.

I did give it a try but I didn't notice any difference. I will give it another shot. Its a cool clip but I've had a knife slide out my pocket before when I was in a clothing store changeroom and hit the tiles. It damn near gave me a heart attack... so would prefer to avoid a repeat of that incident. quote:Originally posted by fastjan:

Gave it another go and had better luck this time. Does feel a bit tighter though it would no doubt fail the upside down shake test. Here are some obligatory glamour shots, with a good buddy:

Thanks. That's the S30V one, the M390 is still wending its way... 0 -
