I didn't see it in their 2012 catalog.

Do you know when it was on the Taylor Brands web site? That would be worth notifying Benchmade's legal team about...

It would have been their 2010 or 2011 catalog, if memory serves...

The no name knock-offs, I can understand, but how does a company of that size get away with selling something like that?

Personally, I think Schrade - as a company - no longer exists. The company name was bought out by a Chinese company (way back in 2006 or 2007, if memory serves) of unknown roots simply because it to market their rip-odd wares under.

An attempt to give some legitimacy to the North American consumers who know the name back from when they were a US owned and operated reputable company.

Unfortunately, their underhanded business methods have misled more than a few people who didn't know better (like I think the ebay seller was), and made them think that the company was still a proper company - not another chinese knock off outfit...

Schrade closed up shop in 2004 and the name sold to Taylor Brands LLC who also distributes S&W knives. Schrade-branded knives have been made in China ever since. Most folks don't know that.
