    That's a great question Geocyclist,

I would say that 5000 would be a great idea, but then it's a question of PE, BK or SBK..???

I personally like the Presideo for durability, they just seem stronger to me and a great work horse...

Perhaps a heavier duty knife might be a good addition to the other ECD's that you have..

Since you seem to like the smaller sized knives, perhaps a 3500/3550 would be up your alley.

I'd suggest a 2550 at least to consider.

    +1 on the mini reflex!

I've got a 2500 mini reflex that I carried for years! LOVE it!

    I would suggest a 9101 but then I am a little partial...

Lots of good feedback, thanks. The 2550 and 3550 nice and seem to fit what I am looking for.

To answer WDW who suggested a 5000:, I have a 525 and this is my go to heavy duty use "small knife". I just don't have very many heavy duty use days except for weekends. On average days they mini grip gets more pocket time vs. the 525 due to weight and handle thickness.

All of the current autos I looked at (I don't know what was made in the past) are 154 cm. Which I am not complaining about, it is good steel. Just a question, I this typical for BM not to offer more variety. Seems like the regular folders can easily be found in 154, s30v, or M4, D2 in LE's.

@ Clint, do you carry your 2550 in pocket clipless or clipped in?

+10, the 3300 is beyond cool. For the sake of this thread I was looking for OTS EDC knives. The 3300 is on my list to get one day. I would carry the 3300 for the cool factor, for fun and play with it all day long. I just don't see it as being as practical as an OTS. Plus in the office environment this would not be wise. (Not that I am pushing it with an auto in the first place).

The 2550 is nice but make sure it fits your hand before you buy one. The front and rear finger cut-outs are a bit sharp and if your hand does not fit the knife then it will be uncomfortable to use.

The 3550 is nice but it's tip down carry only if that matters to you. It is a really nice knife, though. It was tied with the 9530 as my second favorite mini-auto.

I liked the 5500 better than the 5000 and since you already have a 525 it would probably be a good match. It was my favorite mini-auto that I owned.

I never owned a large auto-Stryker but did own a mini auto-Stryker and it was tied with the 3550 as my second favorite mini-auto. However, having played with the large auto at some knife shops the grip on it is absolutely fantastic. If you like tanto blades then I think the 9101 would be a nice change from what you normally carry.

The 3300 did not work for me as an EDC because the large button is opposite of the pocket clip and was quite uncomfortable in my pocket. It became a toy because of that and I eventually sold it.

My absolute favorite knife is the AFO but I would not rate that as a pocket friendly EDC.

    Geocyclist,

That makes perfect sense in regards to the 5000, it’s all about what your personal needs are and I have to say that I have heard some very good reports about the 2550 myself.

The only Auto that I have is a 5000SBK and that really just sits in the Gun Safe, the Spring Assist are good enough for my personal needs..LOL

But it looks to me like you are getting down to an answer of what you want and need, I just wish I could have been more helpful...

    Jedi,

I think that is an excellent suggestion, basically it's a light weight Auto Presideo and in a more reasonable price range.

I alsos feel that it has better egonomic to grab onto for every day use..

The best auto right now is that Harley auto Mini Rukus (Non-Conformist)!

If I could carry autos, I'd be carrying that one.

    Po,

I have to admit that is a pretty sweat knife, I do like Harleys but not on my knife blade and I guess it's because I am just a plan blade man because I find them more practical for ever day use.

But you know the spring assist are really plenty good enough for me, I do own one Auto that sits in the safe and some days I wonder why I even have it.

Arrr may be for Zombies, it is Halloween today..ROLMAO

I used to carry a gerber DMF auto and it was okay but did not like the sliding button style. I currently carry a AFO II in it's black factory pouch on my belt and just behind my left hip area (i am a lefty). I admit drawing the knife from the pouch is no winner on the speed test but i will have to make it work. So overall with my information i love carrying my AFO II as a EDC auto.
