Um, we made the 732HS which was M2 blade steel.

Discontinued in 2004. I believe MSRP was $180 or thereabouts.

Oh man, I have no idea. We only show like 40 being sold through our systems, although that doesn't necessarily reflect reality for older knives...

Other guys on here might know more than I do...

I bet even this user will bring a pretty penny.

I know what Ill pay for it and Im sure there are some that would pay even more.

It's the 732HS Ares,M2. I was told there were 37 of these that were released to the market when I asked many years ago. No LE markings anywhere on the knife or the box. If the box were available for this particular knife that's up for auction, I'd bid. I've been looking for a second one for years. The only other one I've seen is the 'user' 732HS that SharpEye posted a few months ago.

Here's mine; A pic of the box.

The 732HS is at the bottom.

The CF M2HS Ares came in a run of 500. Maybe that's a different knife than you are discussing.

    yeah that's different. That's a 730 and they're all over the place..

That leads up to my question... what really is the difference between a 730, 732, 733 and 735?

    I believe ....... handle colors
To the best of my knowledge , blades are the same.

The CF is a different knife altogether. The knife in question is the one Jason and I mention in the above posts.

The handle color is what differentiates the models, although there are exceptions to the rule such as the black ktom and the CF models. The more recent models also are simply designated as 730's.

And even without the box, the knife on auction can be readily identified as one of the 40 or 37 by the 732 under the butterfly. I don't know of any other Ares designated 732 that came with the M2HS marked blade.

That knife sold just north of $300.
Wonder if someone here snagged it?

I thought it would have brought more. I would have paid $305 for it.

Big Red. Congratulations on the score! I looked at this one too. Since I already have one that's a great user I'm glad to see another forum member get it. You'll love it because as a user you can actually use it versus keeping it in the safe (Agony, I of course would trade you mine for your NIB 732 if you twisted my arm.

Haha, If I find another one NIB you'll be the first one I contact for a trade, Sharp Eye.

BTW, does yours say 732 under the butterfly on the blade?

Wil, yes it does, happily! I sent some photos earlier that you so kindly posted to the forum for me. It was the one where the original owner started to remove the BT/BK finish off the blade. I have definitely been using it and it's not showing any rust. I have a suspicion that the coating actually bonded with the surface of the m2 and is still protecting it from corrosion. Wil, thank you for putting me on your list of first contacts if another NIB 732 comes your way.

Is anyone other then me hoping that they make a 732 m4?

Agony, thank you for details and for sharing photos!

bigred981, congrats with the purchase! I thought to bid with $350-370, but desided to pass in last moment. I would fight hard for NIB...

Tiny, I would love to see an m4 variant but only after an s110v one in carbon fiber is done.

    JR I seem to remember a certain party who recently parted with 2 m390 knives, a 730-1202 & a 707-1202.

Yes, in actuality I would buy any new Ares with any of the new "super steels". Could we hope for titanium liners while we're at it?
